At this point if they waived Ortio is there any chance he gets claimed? I doubt it.

Considering Smid is in Brodie's spot it is safe to assume maintenance for TJ.
Grant has been okay but understanding the circumstance I see why they sent him down.
Really sucks we are back to the 3 goalie rotation.

I doubt it, too but would a team like Toronto possibly consider it?

Last year seemed like everything was figured out and they had a plan, this year everything seems like it's in shambles.

Last year we got by on having an insane shooting percentage and good bounces. We're still a terrible puck possession team that relies too much on blocking shots and collapsing in our own end.

Awesome. I Was hoping for the 3 man goaltending situation to rear its ugly head again and at the expense
of someone who can actually win faceoffs. Hard to cheer for this team right now.

It is purely a numbers game and while Treliving is figuring out what to do with the roster, he made the safe play which does not involve losing anyone.
Edit: And when I say 4th liner at best, I am not knocking his game.... he played very well in that role and our 4th line was one of the most consistent. He will be back once the roster is figured out.

I think having a quality 4th line is very valuable in the NHL. Him being a good fit there is a positive for this club.
Ian also not sure what assets we would have to risk. Bollig, Raymond, Smid, Ramo, Hiller, Ortio all easily clear waivers right now or help us out by being claimed.

I still think a team with a good, established number one and an underwhelming backup might claim him. Maybe Washington or Nashville? Not sure what their backup situations are like.

Waiver implications aside, it sucks to see our only reliable face off guy get sent down.

Jermain Franklin @TSNJFranklin
According to Hartley Doctors gave Hiller the free night to practice today and they will assess how he feels Tuesday. #Flames

Brodie was given a recovery day and will be in the lineup tomorrow vs NJ. #Flames

Why?
He is a 24 year old goaltender that has shown very little at the NHL level. Lamorillo, Shannahan, Hunter and Dudas have spent zero time developing him watching him develop so they don't have a emotional attachment to him like many fans here do either.
We have seen how well a 3 headed goalie situation has worked here how likely are they going to want to do that with Reimer and Bernier already in place?

This line is a dud and has been so since the playoffs. No forecheck and can't gain possession of the puck unless Gaudreau does all the work.

Absolutely. I would be very, very surprised if Raymond didn't clear again. He isn't even playing and when he has played he has been pretty much useless. Grant was actually playing a key role when sent down and playing it well.
Would anybody be crying if Raymond was picked off of waivers and we lose the potential for a late round draft pick? I highly doubt it. To me, Grant is this years Jooris and deserves to stay up, as simple as that.

... you can send him down a hundred times over and he will still clear every single time.
