I get it. I'm just looking at it from an absurd perspective.

This made it on BBC Breakfast in the UK this morning. It was very brief, in an and-in-other-news-waterskiing-squirrel kind of way. Basically they showed the clip and said the guy was warned not to by police, ignored the warning did it "at a rodeo event" and was promptly arrested on landing.

It is so telling that although they figured that they thought everything through nobody thought to put a stick in the top of his company banner so it could be read. Come to think of it, look at the sign. Who would think "I bet sky blue on white would be a good choice for visibility when hanging from balloons"?

The idiots at the Herald included the company name in an interview. Perhaps only the paper version, so only dinosaurs like myself would have read about it.
Seriously stupid stunt. He had an air tank attached. That could do some serious damage.

I'm wearing a couple of ballons on my cowboy hat in support of this today.
If, no who am I kidding, WHEN I do a stunt like this, it will be using just enough ballons to lower gravity to about 1/3. Less helium needed and it would be like you have super powers.

Idiots.

Except during the launch, they switched to landscape for the take off. Which is a sign of true professionals. You gotta know when to break the rules.

That's just awesome. I love crazy stuff like this.
From the video, the guy that found the chair gave probably the most coherent "bystander" interview I have ever seen. Thumbs up.

The drones at the red star did one further and included a full link to his company in their article...

99 Düsenjäger
Jeder war ein großer Krieger
Hielten sich für Captain Kirk
Das gab ein großes Feuerwerk
Die Nachbarn haben nichts gerafft
Und fühlten sich gleich angemacht
Dabei schoss man am Horizont
Auf 99 Luftballons

I can't see this stunt resulting in a guily plea for the guy. Peace bond maybe.

What the hell, I sound less coherent during client presentations for stuff I designed!
This bystander just confidently rattles off components like he's been building flying lawn chairs for 10 years and this is the 3rd one he built that day.
