The only reason Cherry liked it is because a Canadian beat up on a Russian.

Fedorov was about 175 lbs soaking wet so he seems a little on the large side for Bieksa.

Going to be tough to get rid of $4.6M in cap hit this year. Although it's only one year, only $2.6M in actual dollars, and in the East he's probably a decent enough #4 I guess... maybe to Philadelphia for Umberger or Lecavalier plus a pick? Or Ottawa, even, given the low actual dollars.

The guy is slime. Hopefully he's traded to Florida and is forever irrelevant to Calgary.

Judging by his play in the playoffs, he's already irrelevant to Calgary.

Probably be able to get a pick and a top prospect for him.

My best friend here in Kamloops thinks an a/b prospect and early second rounder

I'll be happy if we can somehow get a 3rd round pick for him.

Hopefully this is one of those situations that Brad Treliving DOESN'T have any interest in.

I'm pretty sure Brad has a good handle on Kevin's uses and they are few.

Bieksa has value in that his Salary is roughly half of his cap hit.

Ferland destroyed his career and exposed him as the gutless puke he is. Nothing worse than a fake tough guy that picks fights with smaller guys, as soon as a legitimate tough guy matched up he wilted so fast it was actually quite shocking. Gaudreau is tougher, he hit Byfuglien, blocked shots face first and didn't say a thing about it.

I wonder what would have happened to Bieksa if Ferland had gotten free and the refs hadn't held him back. I would have liked to have seen that.

Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC
Hearing tonight that one of the teams interested in acquiring Kevin Bieksa is San Jose.

Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC
Don't know how far along it is...but Sharks appear to be very interested in Bieksa.

Ha ha ha ha. I feel bad for Sharks fans. So good for years and now they are teetering on being the next version of Sutter's Flames.

San Jose wanting Bieksa is insane to me. They're one of the last teams that should be looking at a guy like that.
