The same and only guy who called Kipper retiring and not being traded a few years ago...

And his rationale about "moving out salary" makes NO sense and indicates to me he is utterly out of the loop in regards to anything Calgary related. Throwing crap at the wall and hoping it's right. Nice try.

I'm interpreting Brads comments today about how valuable picks are this draft as moving some vets for picks this year. So maybe get what you can for vets. Then use combination of asserts to make hockey trades.

Hockey trades would be for scoring rw and top 4 defence man. Oh oh. Phil and Dion.

Yeah, Kypreos has plenty of connections. Say what you want about the guy, even before this season when he was unbearable, the guy has major connections and sources. Don't doubt him for a second to be honest.

I doubt you are being serious but it's not to hard to work it out so you can have a baby in the off season.

I know oil rig workers who have purposely had their babies during spring break up. I also know rig workers who have stayed in the field while the baby is being born. It's not the end of the world.

The Flames are in the playoff stretch drive fighting for their lives and and 2 of their supposedly "key players" are off having babies. Trade em both.

Trade the babies. Would that count as future considerations?

This year's draft is deeper than last year's. We managed to find a guy like Hickey in the 3rd last year, who is off to an amazing start on his road to becoming an NHLer. If the Flames can get multiple thirds or better for some of the depth guys like Stajan/Raymond/Glencross/Jones etc, that would be great. There are about 75-80 good players in this draft, where there was only about 65-70 last year.

We have the depth in Adirondack to recall a bunch of players. Addy is out of a playoff spot now anyway and have terrible goaltending now that Ortio is out, so it's unlikely that they'll manage a comeback between now and the end of the season.

If Dion Phaneuf is playing on our 2nd pairing and Wideman gets bumped down to anchor the third pairing, I would bet the time we spend hemmed in our own zone gets dramatically reduced.

Dion's personality is hard to like, and he isn't a true #1, but there are already 2 guys on the roster better than him.

Now, you can argue that we tried a 'big 3' before with Dion and it didn't work, but Darryl had the right idea. Just the wrong players. Is anyone going to argue that Gio/Brodie/Dion is a way better proposition than Bouw/Regehr/Dion?

Personally, I'd rather throw Dion's money at Brent Seabrook, but there's no guarantee he comes available next summer. So whatever Treliving feels is best, really.

Everyone who craps on Kessel needs to spend five minutes picturing him on a line with Bennett and Johnny. And once you've cleaned yourselves up, tell us why it's that bad an idea.

Yeah that's it right there.

That would also let them pack up some assets for long term player that is in another teams sell list.

I'm actually ok with adding Phil and Dion. I am just imagining the reaction here. Lol

Imo Phil is the best player Flames can get without giving away the farm because of all the negative TOR press. Dion is not far off.

I think Stajan might be headed to ARI.

Love Stajan and his family. It's hard to find a more heart and soul guy than him.

But I am happy to let the Flames/Stajan experiment go. It's been quite the run.

If they do trade them I hope they retain salary so we don't need to make more bad signings just to meet the cap floor next year. Might get a better return that way also.

He is a good quality versatile guy for a rebuild like the Coyotes.

Stajan for Vermette.

I have to imagine Arizona is on Stajan's no-trade list.
