He's mocking the people who grilled him last time. There was a lot of backlash last time (3 years ago) and he re-posted that picture few days ago on that events anniversary. He's doing it again, I'm sure he's not trying to offend anyone. Enjoy it folks.

Oh damn, new moon account was banned just yesterday. We should have waited a day to allow him to get banned under the same account. A celebration of sorts.

I don't know, just not the people who continuously do ####ed up things/get arrested/beat their wives.

How about start with their parents, teachers, coaches, scientists. Just not a group of people who have consistently proven that they shouldn't be role models.

Or you could just let it happen and then complain about it when they inevitably disappoint.

There's a difference between "should" and "does". I'm going to bet there are a large number of kids and young people who DO look up to the Evander Kane's of the world as a model of "success" - a skilled NHL player with a huge contract which is a position pretty much every aspiring hockey player would love to have, and every hockey parent would love to see their children in. They watch hockey, they breathe hockey, and they see the guys at the top. And on top of that, there is no shortage of exposure to these athletes and personalities on TV and social media.

So it's cute to think they shouldn't look up to them, but I would put my money on the expectation that kids DO look up to them, whether you like it or not. That's being realistic.

I don't see how doing push-ups with money on your back is a bad thing to show kids. There's a billion other things we could be doing with that money that could ruin some kid. Having some fun and trolling the media isn't going to lead some kid down some bad path.

If Kane actually won that money in Vegas, that's sick. Like NHL players need more money anyways... save some greenbacks for the rest of us who had to work 9-5's and couldn't pursue our real dreams.

If I was Kane, I'd have taken the same picture, but with waffles and maple syrup instead.

I find it funny how many people are upset about this picture. I couldn't care less. He's a kind of decent hockey player who makes a lot of money and thinks he's an Instagram star. Yawn.

If you really want an example for your kids, teach them a financial lesson. Kane should be investing his money in a diversified portfolio. Liquid assets all over your back (ha) are not a solid base for a stable retirement.
Yeah but doing pushups with a manilla envelope from Merrill Lynch isn't nearly as visually appealing.

But I guess if he was doing bicep curls, it might achieve a similar goal.

Finally, come on. These NHL guys don't really need to invest their money, do they? To not go broke when your career is going to finish with 80M+ in earnings *And it will, haters. He's going to be 26-27 when that deal expires, and Evander Kane is going to get PAID* shouldn't you be fine as long as you maintain a modicum of self control when it comes to spending?

He could buy an RS7 every year and he'd be fine until he was well beyond an age where you should be driving that car.

That's why we have these things called 'parents'. If people can't handle giving this particular life lesson to THEIR kids, they should have their legs tied together and be heavily sedated.

Maybe it is just that he provides them with critical mass for top-6 forwards but they are a different team with him in the line-up

He is also 23 years old ... exactly 2 years older than Gaudreau and a year younger than Jooris.

Haha, the best part of this thread is how it's completely about Kane's cash photo, then Ricardodw comes in unprompted and just splatters stats all over the place like it has anything to do with anything, lol.

He leads the Penguins with 4 fights this year. 4 fights in 22 games call it what you will...

He is clearly poking fun at the media in Winnipeg and Canada that made a huge deal about the money photo. Are you to dense to see that or are you just being a ######?

There was a reference that Kane was the equivalent of Jooris. and another that the Jets owners/management were not getting value for their money

Ok so even if kids are looking up to Evander Kane and their parents are unable to direct their development in any way, who cares? This guy's great crime is posing with his money. If I had kids I would probably be alright with them looking up to Evander Kane. We can dislike his Instagram photos all we want but the fact is that he makes a lot of money as a reward for working hard at his craft and having a pretty solid NHL career so far. Could he use a dose of humility? Perhaps. I'm just making the argument that no one should be giving him a hard time for not being the perfect role model for kids. Sorry, but being a good role model is not a requirement for pro athletes.

I also hate that I'm now somehow defending Kane because I think he's not that great of a hockey player. But whatever.

If you think this is a ludicrous display of wealth let's go back to Floyd. Check his Instagram and then you'll see ludicrous. The guy has 3 Bugatti's, same model same year just different color because he, "felt like it". Not to mention he carries a backpack with $1M+ cash in it whenever he leaves the house. Can't really blame the guy though. He made like $32M just to fight alone on his last fight never mind his share of the PPV profits.

LOL at everyone trying so hard to follow the ridiculous NHL political correctness code. You're jealous Kane has lots of cash at a young age? Try working harder.

It's his money and not a single one of you has a right to tell him what he can and cannot do with it within the confines of the law.

Calling him an a-hole or a d-bag just makes you come across as petty, pathetic and jealous.

I think it's hilarious. Even more funny is that it's the 1 year anniversary since the first pic of him playing with the stacks of money. He knows exactly what he's doing. Y'all been trolled.

Wins stack of cash.

Takes photo with stack of cash.

This is what passes for a scandal in Canada.

Just because someone isn't breaking the law doesn't mean they should not be criticized for being an arrogant jerk. There are certain social norms that people tend to follow and some that just should be followed. Flaunting your success/trolling the media or whatever we are gonna call this is one that shouldn't be done imo.
