so 14 wins in 28 games? is that supposed to mean they are elite? because that isn't even a playoff team. In the west Montreal would be on the bubble

With Sven and Diaz in the lineup and Hiller starting, this is the first time in NHL history that 3 Swiss-born players have played for one team in the same game.

I'd say Gallagher has the most punchable face. Always has a smug look and is always a little punk, chirping guys with nothing to back it up. Was in Brodie's face a lot last game.

Is 20% supposed to be exceptional? Pretty average pp percentage.

Yes it is exceptional.
Average would be 17.5% - 18.5%.

You know what I'm pumped about? Last year we had all this youth playing well for us but it was when the season was basically over and games didn't matter. This year it's during a really important part of the season and so far they are performing great!
Is it 5pm yet?

A couple percentage points off. We have scored a whopping 8 pp goals in 12 games. I don't think our pp has been anything special, and I definitely wouldn't classify it as exceptional and think it definitely needs a shake up with the forwards. The injuries will allow that to happen as 2 pp guys have went down.

I have the feeling that Gaudreau is going to score a couple of goals tonight and lead the Flames to a win.

Completely. He's a complete *** to play against, but man I would love for him to be on the Flames. He's on the right side of being a pest out there, never see rat type plays from him, just always playing with an edge.

To put it in perspective: The Flames had a 15.7 PP% last year. An increase in 5% would add 16 goals on the year and move the Flames GF from 202 to 218 and their GF/G from 2.46 (23rd) to 2.66 (16th). It changes an offense from poor to at least average. It makes a huge difference over the course of a season in wins and losses and can push the team up the standings.
Special teams are an important part of any successful team. Currently the Flames are top 10 in GF/GA, and a good power play can supplement a team that can prevent well and score more often than the opposition 5 on 5. That is a winning formula so long as the PK isn't bottom 5. Unfortunately, the PK IS currently bottom 5 for the Flames, so it's holding back their overall success.

Hope Johnny gets a few since he was robbed by Price so many times last time.
Also looks like Tinordi is scratched tonight. Scared?

We've been averaging about 3 powerplays a game. How many goals would a "good" powerplay have in 12 games and 39 chances? 12? 15? 20? 39?

and a couple of percentage points the other way you would be the tops in the league year over year. (Aside from Pittsburgh's ridiculous and un-maintainable rate at the moment)
20% is a very good PP percentage held by the top 6-7 teams in the league each year. Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story though.
now the PK on the other hand.....

I don't know who the MTL coach is going to deploy to defend the Granlund line. But it won't work. They made Weber look foolish, Subban is going to cry tonight.

We owe them payback for last Tuesday, 9/10 times we win that game. That win for them was all Price. If I don't have to hear "Olè olè olè," I'd be so happy.
