I picked Baertschi but I think Ferland makes it too, at least for a while.
Personally I hope JG starts in Addy for a month or two before making the jump to the NHL.

Ferland, he is a big "heavy" body. To be it would make sense to have him in the team and comfortable before you bring in smaller or younger players.

If I had to pick one, I would pick Ferland. Partly because he has been really good in camp, but also because he can play in the bottom 6 and likely chip in a few goals. from there. For a player like Baertschi, he needs to be in the top 6 to make it worth keeping him up.

Having said that, I think with injuries and a little bit of line juggling, Baertschi will at least get an extended audition at the start of the season.

I think Gaudreau will be starting the year on the farm team.

Actual winning lineup (April 4) that was representative of the Flames that went 11-8-0 after the trade deadline.

Too close to call who makes it IMO. There's persuasive arguments for and against everyone on the bubble. I trust the coaching staff to make the right call.

I chose Ferland because he fits the power forward mold. And he fits the slot of the vets who I think are on the bubble (Jones, Setoguchi).

But from the small window of preseason games that I've watched Bennett is the guy who stood out the most for me. He looked really good. I think he looked more ready than Johnny Hockey.

I don't think Baertschi's going to make it. I also have a feeling that Reinhart will not be with the organization much longer. Seems to have too many guys ahead of him now. Bet he gets traded eventually. I have the same feeling about Ramage.

Of all of the newbies I think Ferland and Gaudreau will make the cut. And I guess Diaz, although he's not really a rookie.

Sven looks like a different player. He has it in him to be as dangerous an offensive weapon as this team has, and he's engaged and willing to battle more. He already has some chemistry with Monahan, and not to put too fine a point on it, but we need an influx of skill. Sven is the most ready of our skilled undersized wingers.

Not to say Gaudreau doesn't make this team in a month anyway, but out of camp I'd say Sven has to be the guy.

Sounds about right. We all expect as much from the veteran-laden projected line-up anyway.

I really think it should be Sven. He came back, prepared for camp. He knows the NHL grind, he's already used to the NHL environment. Just had to go to the AHL to work on some things. He deserves a shot in the NHL as a middle 6 LWer.

As a Baertschi fan, I will say that he didn't do himself any favours tonight - I think he starts the year in Addy.

It's funny, I thought he played really well actually. If monahan would have scored his tap in we all would have been praising baertschi for that pass.
