I don't know why some people are getting mad that Gillies is winning now. Last year's polls, Gillies is -5 his previous spot and Ortio went +20. No knock on Gillies, still a great prospect and expect another awesome year from him, we just have a prospect pool with great quality. Ortio made the biggest stride over any prospect this year. Any of our top ten could easily be the #1 on some teams.

I think it will stay that way if I understood correctly. This is a side vote, a bonus, to see who we think is the top goalie prospect with no skaters to cloud the issue.
The next one, round 11, is on.

A hipster would've voted for Gillies since round 1, all the way up until people started voting for him too because it was his turn. At that point the hipster would vote for Reggie Lemelin instead.

Gives a chance for the posters who didn't pick either goalie that round to make their stance known.

Gillies has the higher upside. That being said, Ortio has done nothing but surprise me since he was drafted.

Like others, I think Gillies has a higher ceiling (just a feeling) but Ortio has a higher floor...

Well, especially since it seems Gillies is going to win, I think it's clear the run-off was worth it.

What have you done for me lately? Last year Gillies. This year Ortio.

With goalie prospects being so unpredictable you have to go with the guy who has accomplished the most. This is easily Ortio. Also in international play Ortio has done well, playing for Finland in 1 Under 18, 2 WJC and 1 WC while Gillies not so much. That we ignored him in earlier polls, doesn't say much for our prognostication powers.

I voted Gillies, but I love that we have 3 very solid goaltending prospects

Ortio won the first round by 8 votes. Gillies this one by 8 votes. Hmm.

I LOVE Gillies. Voted early for him in the other votes. Watched him a handful of times online and he really, really impressed me. Plus he's huge and agile. High ceiling, apparently. I'm in.

Goalies are voodoo.
Safest bet is that neither of these guys ends up as a Flames starter.
I voted for Ortio. He played in the NHL and didn't die.

At 148 - 143, it's pretty safe to say there is no consensus #1 goalie prospect. Both being really promising prospects... I'm excited

I'm an Ortio cookie man, myself.
Gillies really showed some holes in his game in the 2nd half of the season at the college level, Ortio on the other hand played dynamite in the AHL all season long.
Gillies has potential, but I believe Ortio has the same ceiling as Jon.

this may go to the bank as a tie ... you just can't call Gillies a winner by 1%

It'll be interesting to dredge this thread up in a few years. Chances are decent that one or the other could prove to be the exact opposite of the other
