I'd like to set up a nature reserve where you get to hunt free range human's.
You have to pay extra if you want them cooked for the post hunt feast.

Wow, CP has a lot of vegans on here ;-) I'm kidding, not that there is anything wrong with being vegan.
I see little difference between lawfully killing a trophy animal (where the villagers eat the meat) and the piece of beef, pork or chicken on your plate every night. In fact, that piece of beef, pork or chicken lives in way worse conditions up until it's death compared to wild game.

I really didn't think you would eat Lion or any predator meat. Beyond being gross, its probably not the best thing for you.

I'd like to know the story on that "hunt".
No way in hell does she spend a few days stalking a lion in the bush and take it down with a bow.
Judging by her hair and makeup in the photo, she was likely driven up to a lion, and shot it from an SUV.
I've been up close (within a foot) of a male lion on a game reserve (it walked past me when I was in an open top safari vehicle). I near shat myself. I felt like an open tin of cat food.

Personally, I think that this young lady is extremely attractive and therefore, I approve of every single thing that she chooses to do. Furthermore, I believe that all the uggos should emulate her and do everything that she does.

I don't believe that Lion is high on the meat list in Africa.
Nevermind, just got a text from a buddy that live in South Africa, apparently they will eat lion....."if it moves it is eaten".

I don't have a good reason, I'm not a hunter, I was always told that Predator meat is usually pretty stuffed full of parasites and has a better chance of making you sick.

As I said in my changed post, it is eaten if killed. My mate that lives there said that anything that moves is eaten. I will leave out his social commentary on those that are doing the eating.
Apparently, baboons are eat a lot.

I'm all for animal conservation, and i find game hunting to be a terrible thing to do. In many cases there's reasons behind why it's allowed, and if you look at certain animal populations in Africa where hunting is allowed vs where it's illegal; the places where it's allowed the species have increased their numbers. This GQ article is one hell of an interesting article, that explains it better and relates the tale of a texan woman that goes elephant hunting. well worth the read, if not for the cool graphs alone.

No difference between someone who goes to Africa to hunt big game and your uncle. The big game hunter kills his prey and the animal is processed; flesh is consumed and hide is used. Your uncle kills his prey and the animal is processed; flesh is consumed, hide is used. Neither animal has been wasted, just different parties have utilized different parts for different purposes. The hunter himself doesn't need to be the one to use the animal.

At the risk of some fool accusing me of bragging about my travel exploits, we learned that in Kenya they send young boys out with a sharpened stick to slay a lion as a rite of passage to manhood. I don't know how successful they are. I asked our guide if he thought a lion or a grizzly bear was more dangerous, and he said the lion. I told him that no one here would dare go bear hunting with a sharp stick.
I think that sport hunting is disgraceful. If you use the game for food, that's great. Many of those are threatened species and I think she should be ashamed. They're beautiful animals.
I do agree they'd be very hard to bring down with an arrow, so maybe she does shoot from the safety of a vehicle. It'd still be very difficult.

I'm not a hunter so I have no idea, but I don't know why this would be the case. Maybe you're right.

The reason there is a difference is because we are the reason there is so many cattle, pigs, and chicken. We are the ones that farm them and cause them to exist at high levels. While I definitely think it is something that is conceptually really messed up (even though I do eat it), it is not the same thing as shooting a lion, which is a protected species and not farmed. It is protected because of us killing them, not direct evolution.
We also live in a society where we have it so good that we don't need to eat wild animals. Not that some of them don't taste pretty amazing, but at one time this was done for the purposes of survival. For the fact that if we didn't, we might not be feeding our family that night. This isn't the case anymore.
P.S. - If there was any meat we don't eat down here that we should eat, it's seal meat, just like the inuit. The nutritional profile of seal meat is better than any meat we actually eat, and with seals being over-populated and killing other species, I'm all for it.

Maybe it's the same as shooting moose in the Canadian wilderness, but man I don't know what it is, there's just something very unsettling about killing a lion. To me it's like the difference between killing and eating a chicken vs. killing and eating a cat.
I think the reason why we don't eat carnivores is evolutionary as well as cultural based on religious ideas. From an evolutionary perspective, carnivores are inherently dangerous, so it would be silly to try to kill them if they're designed to do the same to you. Also once humans shifted from a hunter gatherer species to an agrarian one, it was probably quickly discovered that raising carnivores for meat is an inefficient way of farming. For example you need to raise antelope for your lion farm if you want to be eating lions. So why not just eat the antelope instead? There's also the issue of feeding your lion 1000 pounds of meat every 2 months to produce an 800 pound lion, so the numbers just don't add up.

Lions are Vulneralbe, not endagered mainly due to habitat loss, These games farms actually help to perserve the Lion populations by preserving acres of land and ensuring that the hunt is managed in a sustainable way. If this is a game farm think of it as a farmed grass fed cow that you go shoot with an arrow if it makes you feel better.
Lions are Vulneralble not endangered which my understanding means they are not a protected species. Same thing Harper did with the whales.
Its a psychological thing that a lion is a beautiful fury animal and not a cow or a deer but really if done in a sustainable manner there is no difference.
