Good return for VAN if that pick turns into something.

Yeah - I guess its great for VAN too if they can flip the pick and get their guy Reinhart.

yeah, this probably kills my Reinhart dream
Even years we can be excited about the draft, the Oilers and Canucks have to ruin it

Bonino has had one 49 pt season (and never 20 pts prior) and he's 26. To suggest he's better than Kesler is just goofy

I'm down with the return. This really doesn't help the Canucks much. Suck it Vancouver.

The good news is Vancouver Fans are melting down, starting to sharpen the spikes for Bennings and Linden's heads already.

Bonino is horrible. Soft minutes, bad possession numbers and at 26 unlikely to improve. #6 guy in Sbisa.
Just a disaster of a trade.

This draft isn't that deep. If I'm the Panthers I would see Ekblad as more of a sure thing than the guys you will get at #6 and the #24.
This deal isn't that great for the Canucks when you consider on most nights last year he was far and away their best player. Ducks are now a legit Stanley Cup threat.

I don't think Florida will agree to drop that far. Nucks will have to barter with 6th OA

Bonino will pull a Conacher in Vancouver and be shipped out or waived in the next few years, Sbisa is an injured plug who won't crack their top 4 and the 24th overall is a total gamble.
As of today, Vancouver gets fleeced. Well done Anaheim.

What van does with that pick doesn't affect Anaheim at all. This is a good trade for Murray

Most of Bonino's points were on the PP with Getzlaf and Perry (20 of 49). I suppose he could fit with the Sedins but that leaves Burrows with 2 goals all year.

Yeah, but Tallon seems intent on not drafting the piece that fills a gaping hole in his organization that's currently sitting in his lap.

Obviously. I was saying they are using the 24th OA + 6th OA to move up to 1st. I think they'd do that.

Okay, perhaps not better - but I don't think the difference between the two is that great and its not that much of a downgrade for Vancouver.

Lots of people are going to underrate Bonino but he's a quality player. He broke out nicely with 49 points this past year and he did that playing with Beleskey and Palmieri.
He'll help the canucks for sure although he's still a downgrade from Kesler. They really didn't end up getting that much for him. Hard to believe Sbisa is still only 24 considering how many times he's been traded already. The 24th pick in a weak draft isn't much.
Remember when the Penguins offered Sutter, Despres and a 1st? And canuck fans everywhere were talking about how that wasn't even in the ballpark and Vancouver would need WAY more?
This is a pretty similar deal value-wise. Sucks for Flames fans that Kesler stayed in the division but it's nice to see the canucks continue to get worse.

Dang, I got the feeling Canucks will dangle their 6th pick and the 24th pick they received from Anaheim to Florida's 1st pick overall. I am hoping Tallon asked for an extra player in return, a roster player who can help them and Canucks will say no thanks.

Bonino is really good, I actually think this is a great trade for Vancouver
#8, #24 and Hunter S will get them #1 I think too...

I hate Kesler as much as the next guy but this is a terrible deal for Vancouver...don't tell me about PPG last season that doesn't determine a players value. He was their biggest trade able asset and they totally caved and traded him where he wanted for limited return. Its nice when that happens to a team besides the Flames for once

this is less than I expected for Van, so I'm happy.
I don't think the #6 and #24 get #1, but we'll see. Throw in Shinkaruk and it would.
And I think Van loses that trade as well.
If so, that would mean that Van trades:
Kesler #6OA and Shinkaruk (plus sliding down in the 3rd round), for
Reinhart, Bonino and Sbiza
