does anyone know if it will only be the first round on friday? 3 hours seems like a really long broadcast just for one round? or is it this long due to interviews, etc, that they will have after the draft itself is complete?

IIRC teams are given 5 minutes from the announcement of the previous pick to make a pick in the 1st round.

SO to get to flames central on the Friday you have to be a season ticket holder or their guest? Is it worth going?

Yes, I was gonna say it was worth it. STH, my first year being so and it was quite nice. Couple of free drinks, good food (prime rib, veg, salads, etc.) and we won a couple jerseys. Great atmosphere, if you're into the draft at all you'll enjoy yourself.

I like how we spend a third of the year dissecting and arguing about 2000 different ways of how the top 4 will turn out, but as soon as someone wants to get together with some friends and watch the actual thing in a public setting, suddenly that's the line one just doesn't cross?
Just like getting excited about the draft doesn't make you a loser, not enjoying the draft doesn't make you some sort of ultimate champion either.

Couldn't agree more Table 5, that's Edmophobia at its worst:
The fear of an individual being happy about his/her team getting a good draft pick because it may in some way make that individual resemble a donkish Oiler fan.

I'll be watching from Boca and reading the reaction on here (which is always entertaining).
I'm curious and a little excited to see who Florida picks. Could be someone that helps move the franchise forward, or they could trade for a good package of players to jump start their progress. As a new STH for the Panthers, they are now my de facto #2 team and the nice thing is it will almost never go against my primary allegiance.
Go Flames! Go Panthers!
(and no, I will not turn into Bouw and Arrow)

I'll be at Flames Central as well. I can't make it until right at 5pm, so hopefully there's seats left.

Think of it as a baby shower (though one that occurs after birth). Even the team picking 30th can be excited and celebrate the birth for their new, if slightly uglier, child.

Action at the draft by all teams. The last good hockey action we'll see for 3 months (draft day >>> July 1).
