Any player traded after the trade deadline is not eligible to play in that season's playoffs.

Not sure if it has been discussed yet or not but what are the rules for trades like this during playoffs? Can any team out of the playoffs trade? Can it be any type of asset? Can it only be the rights to players at this time? Thanks.

Or at all in the current season. I remember the Flames traded with Florida (Rocky Thompson for Filip Kuba) two days after the deadline one year. You can trade at any time.

Since, teams that are out of the playoffs aren't playing anymore. its pretty much free rein. I remember one year turco was signed after the deadline just to be a backup but couldnt suit up for the playoffs.

Just a wild guess, but maybe check the post right above yours that was posted 3 hours previous.

I know what he meant but the value you get when trading for a player's rights in the off-season is a lot different. You can't compare the two.
