It's basically the level of 15-year old boys hockey. Before the 2010 Olympics the Canadian team warmed up by playing various midget boys teams.

That said, it's in the Olympics and its nice to see hockey being played by females - its a great game and should be enjoyed by all.

It's just too bad that other countries don't have an emphasis on it at all. The calibre of hockey played by those countries is horrifying.

The worst of all is the shooting. It's always stunning how weak the shots are, just absolute muffins.

Awful sequence by Catherine Ward. Weak backhander gets intercepted, then backs off too much and gives the American a clear shot.

Canada could have had 50 seconds 5-on-3, but held the puck too long.

Irrelevant trivia
the Lamoureux twins are sisters to former Flame prospect JP Lamoureux. Gigi Marvin is the sister of former Flame prospect Aaron Marvin

They had control of the puck, pulled the goalie and had about a 20 second 6 on 4 and almost scored.

Agreed. I have no idea how some people feel that the quality of this hockey is more entertaining than what we have seen from the men so far. This is hard to watch.

I'm dissapointed that the organist in Sochi just plays the same stuff they play here. Was hoping they'd play unique russian tunes.

Game is still there for the taking but Canada needs to stop being so dumb with the puck.

They're either trying to dangle 1 on 3 off the rush, or throwing weak shots at the goalie with no traffic, or over-passing on the PP.

Hopefully someone steps up in the 3rd.
