Exactly, and with Luongo having nothing to lose, he should have just accepted the blame.

No kidding. The Hamhuis reaction says everything you need to know about that team. Absolutely zero love for any of their team mates. No tap on the pads, not even a word spoken between the two.

I would think that Hamhuis at least could take some of the blame, ie. "Lost focus for a second" or something. It's not that no one is taking blame, as you say a freak goal, but it would help defuse the situation a little for the sake of the "team".

Freak incident? The puck didn't grow legs and walk in, there wasn't a mystery shooter in the crowd who made it change direction and there wasn't even a female hygiene product in the crowd with a green laser. Between the two idiots involved, someone screwed up and the puck ended up in the back of their own net. If they gave a damn, they would have adressed it by now. They don't care about the team or eachother. It's great.

You guys talk like you know what goes on in the Canucks dressing room.

I think each person involved could take some of the blame.

All 3 of them need to be aware out on the ice until the puck is out of the zone.

Meanwhile, the Sportsnet panel is trying to paint Luongo's post-game comments as a sign that he is frustrated at being stuck in Vancouver.

I think you could paint every thing he has said publicly for the last 18 months as a sign that he is frustrated at being stuck in Vancouver.

He was as highly regarded as Schneider for a while. Schneider took the next step and then some while Lack lost a year of development due to injury. For better or worse, Lack will be the Canucks' future because I don't think Luongo will be sticking around much past this season. And it has nothing to do with that goal. Gillis fubared the whole goalie situation.

And so many people thought that the luongo saga was over. I warned everyone the day after that trade when those Canuck fans came out supporting luongo saying "they kept the right goalie" and that "he had handled this with such class". Those same fans that cheered his return this season are the same ones that wanted him run out of town for what had happened to them year after year in the playoffs. They seem to always forget how he behaved in the SCF whining about Tim Thomas while posting .85 save %. It's been obvious to anyone that pays attention that he has always been a bad team mate.

There are countless goals where a Canuck player has made a mistake or screened luongo or accidentally tipped the puck and it gets by luongo and he always does the same thing... I've watched it for years: he looks right at the team mate whose fault it was and gives them a glare. The camera zooms in on his face sometimes and you can see it. Sometimes he'll even shrug his arms at them. Anyone who has played hockey before knows that goalies like that are the worst kind of team mate.

Meanwhile, any time kipper had something like that happen, he just got up and took a drink of his water bottle... No dirty looks to team mates and no blaming then in the media scrum. That's the kind if goalie players like to have.
