It doesn't get used because everyone has moved on from the joke but you. Much more recent ammo provided by the Oilers - keep up.

He was pointing out that they were exactly the same size.
Baertschi is joining a team that is filled with small forwards that don't do well when the other team knocks them around.
It is a redundant signing for Edmonton as they already have exceeded their allowable limit of undersized forwards......
a team can get away with 1 or maybe 2 guys the size of Miller but Miller will not do well playing with the Edmonton Smurfs and it is equally likely that Baertschi (and Backlund)will not reach their potential playing with the Calgary Smurfs. (Hudler, Cammalleri, Tanquay, Cervenka, Stempniak, Stajan, Horak)
Baertschi was not sent down to the AHL because of a lack of talent/skill.... He was sent done so he didn't get the snot beat out of him night after night and run out of the league.

Baertschi is 20 years old. His NHL weight will likely be more like 195 lbs.
They are not comparables for size.
Also, if you aren't big, you better be talented. Miller can't carry Baertschi's jockstrap.
Just a silly comparison.

I like Miller and think he will be a good pro player which is often the case for guys in his impact range in the NCAA. He is really productive and am surprised he wasn't drafted though I guess he's on the small side and the older side of things. That's what is most important to consider when comparing college players - the wide age range there is. It's why Gaudreau is such a stud because he is a natural sophomore and to some extent why Agostino would be considered someone to be excited about. The development curve may be a little different for college guys than CHL but it's not all that different in that excellent players who are younger than their competition are very important to note.
Miller is four years older than Agostino and has considerably less development time with two years in an outstanding junior league, the USHL. Miller is a huge longshot to make the NHL and looks like he could be a productive AHL player, first callup the way so many older, undrafted college players over the years have been. Agostino made the jump right from an extremely low level of hockey that players so rarely make the jump direct to college. Agostino is really legit given his age and experience. I would note that I don't see any value from a hockey standpoint in Agostino returning to college - very little benefit to his development. And I don't agree with people making the argument he wants to get his degree given that he is probably very close to completing it at this moment. Athletes at Ivy League schools get way ahead on credits in summers, especially hockey players who plan to leave school immediately following the conclusion of their senior seasons.

They are they same size - your assumptions don't matter right now.
Anyway it's an AHL/depth player signing; carry on with the small player schtick.

Kenneth Agostino, who the Flames just acquired in the Iginla trade, is both biger and three years younger than this guy. Miller and Agostino both lead Yale in scoring with 41pts each.

So are you saying Agostino is getting bad advice from his father, Ari? It is worrisome that he hasn't turned pro considering he's just won the National Championship and that's unlikely to happen again for Yale in some time. What does he have to gain (other than enjoying the comforts of Ivy League freshman girls)?
Agostino and Miller had a really good vibe together. Miller's success had as much to do with Kenny's workrate, speed and positioning as it did with his own playmaking skills. I had no idea Miller was that much older as well...
