To be honest not much I am around mostly Canuck fans, but they have more of a life, then living in front of their TVs watching sports all the time. I hear the odd joke, but its well deserved, Flames have crap the bed enough since 2010 they deserve a jab here and there. Its all in good fun, I still take jabs at the Nucks when they are playing poor.

What are they going to say? Maybe, ask how it feels to have a completely terrible team finishing near the bottom of the league and still have their first round pick?

If anything, most comments I have heard have been positive. Most agree it should have been done earlier and funny enough most Flames and rivals agree that Jay Bouw did nothing for us.
I was expecting worse.

I stick with comments about riot police, rubber bullets, and trial dates. That usually sets them back.

Not a whole lot. Although most know my loyalty is second to none (Detroit Lions fan as well, since I liked football). Being at the game yesterday was odd; Canucks fans are really annoying, although my friend got heated at someone that stood up in the last minute, claiming it was "over forever". At work, a Leafs fan is pretty understanding, plus the Flames are his second team. And my Carolina fan-friend (they exist, long story), well we're now competing for who gets the better draft pick, sadly.

I used the "Jerry Can Night" joke a couple times yesterday. Worked like a charm.

No Flak here ... All my friends know I've been wanting a rebuild for 3 years now... I'm feeling great now that it's finally underway, so they can't really razz me.

I have a friend who is a canucks fan who won't watch games with me anymore because she is sick of me calling Burrows a diver. I told her I'd quit calling him, Kesler, Roy and the rest of the team divers, when they stopped diving.
Most of the people who say Flames suck, are answered with a simple, yes, this is not their year. Like every team, except Detroit, there are a couple of years where they don't achieve good results. Hopefully they build off of the last two drafts, with the three first rounds this year and will be back with a team that can compete soon. Vancouver will be in a very similar position in a couple years and I will be waiting.

I've had a lot of ignorant people and self described hockey fans here in Colorado verbally give me crap for being a lifelong Flames fan. I usually let them prattle on because a lot of it happens at work.
When someone goes on and on about how I can possibly still be a Flames fan and then brings up how great the Avs are it makes me laugh. Of course if you listen to Peter McNabb, the Avs are the most talented young team in the league.

One of the life guards at my local pool is a huge Oilers fan. After the Flames were humbled by the Oilers he decided to wear his Eberle jersey to work. He started gloating about how good his Oilers were and went on and on and on. I purposely asked him a question and as he leaned down to answer I grabbed his right arm and yanked him into the pool

If only Michael Gobuty played that backgammon game Gretzky could have been Winnipeg Jet. How many cups would the Oilers have then?

Living in Edmonton it hasn't been the greatest season especially after that butt kicking they layed on us last week. I mean it's the same thing every season with oiler fans. They begin the season and they are all drinking the kool aid and are convinced they are the better team, but it never happens. Finally after how long they are right so I've been able to take it in stride and ignore most of the crap. Meh I'll give them this season. Funny enough though they have been real quiet since they started losing again.

Thats just bad math.
Oilers have 5 cups >>>>>
Flames have 1 >
Oilers have 3 !st Overall picks <<<
The Flames have 0 1st overall picks =
Add it all up. The Oilers Franchise > Then the Flames over the corse of 35 years.
But just one >. I currently only one year from being =.

None here, I don't know of any people that I have in my close group of friends that cheer for any team except the Flames so everyone has been pretty happy lately watching some of the young guys.
Why anyone would care what a Edmonton fan (no room to talk) or a Canucks fan (sportsmanship optional) thinks is beyond me anyways.

It doesn't matter how ####ty you've been a team, ever, it's about how many cups you've won, because division titles and conference titles are nothing more than saying "we were 2nd best!". The Montreal Canadiens are the best team of all time, with the Maple Leafs and Red Wings behind them. The Oilers are a better team than the Flames when it comes down to history. The past 5 seasons? Absolutely not. But overall, they have been a better team.

That they're a team on the rise because Burke made some pretty good headway as GM, despite cries to the contrary by fans who have come to always assume the Leafs are terrible out of habit? A team that is comfortably in the playoffs, and looking to grab home ice advantage in the last two weeks here?
