My gut, the last win with Iggy out of the lineup and then traded was the emotional lets win it for him game.
Thus ends that chapter and begins the "we're fisted, winning doesn't matter, lets end this miserable season" stage

Honestly, I think the players will show more emotion now, they need to prove that they don't need Iggy to win.

I can't believe some of you want the Flames to lose. I get the wanting a better draft position, but there's a better way of doing it then tossing in the towel.
Shame on you.
EDIT: And GO FLAMES GO. 4-2 for the good guys.

Why?
They've shown little emotion so far this season except in minor spurts. Iggy leaving isn't going to change that.
They're not suddenly going to find this pool of indomitable desire.

Many posters on this board are showing their true pathetic colors.
Pretty funny considering the beaking most do about Oiler fans cheering for losses.
Go Flames!

I always thought that was such a dumb thing to be proud of.
Yay, instead of drafting low every few years, we get a style of management that gets us past the 1st round of playoffs once every quarter of a century! Screw success, we'd much rather have some obscure stat that nobody cares about.
Maybe if we selected top 5 this last decade, it would be an Iggy type coming to us instead right now.

Personally I'm not cheering for losses or diving in the standing.
But I don't hold up much hope that this team is going to elevate its play or show the emotional determination that separates the good teams from the bad.

What? So many people cheering for a loss?? THIS is exactly the time where individuals in this team need to open their eyes and star working hard - There is no Iginla there that they can fall back on anymore. Time to unite as a team and work hard all 60 minutes.

Thats not a dumb thing to be proud of. Do you have a crystal ball that says if we have a high draft pick it will turn into success? Edmonton has been talking about being good for the last decade. Islanders tank and get good draft picks. You can be a good team and still draft and develop good prospects.
This is a forum and people are entitled to their opinions. So unless you're a fortune teller that can see the future, its not necessary to state someones opinions as a "dumb thing" to be proud of.

Flames will win tonight. I think there's going to be a natural response to having the leader traded -- they know its up to them now. There's no mythical figure left to lift them anymore. Time to just dig in and play hard. 4-1 Flames.

I think some players will step up to increase their trade value but I could also see some players just "not caring" because they don't want to be around for a rebuild.
This is a game between 2 teams goign tin opposite directions. Who knows with either team though.... could be close or a blow out for either team.
