I just hope we don't go on a brutal run like the oilers did after they traded Smyth, didn't they lose 18 of 20 or something crazy like that?

Like being in a weird limbo world, losses now benefit the Flames long term, wins now make me excited because I hate losing.

It's almost like the schedule leading in to the deadline was designed to prevent management from being honest and selling. What a powderpuff schedule they have over this week.

Damn I hope they lose - this one is huge. They could be back to 4 points out and talk themselves into holding tight if they win this.

Not really, just in case someone takes this as such. This is made up.

Flames: "The Calgary Flames announce that Jay Bouwmeester will be scratched for tonight's game. No further announcement at this time."

TSN: "We have almost confirmed a definite, for sure trade of Bouwmeester to Detroit for..." A producer in jeans and a t-shirt angrily walks onto the set, whispers in Ward's ear. Lots of angry gestures.. Then producer walks off, red faced, mouth set in a grimace. Ward continues, "Uh. We'd like to announce that absolutely nothing is happening in the NHL anywhere. We're not even sure games are actually being played..."

A monitor in the background shows Chicago scoring.

Ward continues, looking very unsure of himself. Keeps glancing off-set, apparently looking for someone to rescue him, "Uh. We have unsubstantiated and unconfirmed reports of maybe, possibly a puck entering a net in the general vicinity of the city of Chicago. More when we get confirmation....this probably is just rumor..."

Iggy's gone so who cares, Go Jackets.

Still really bitter about the trade.

Why not go cheer for the oilers if you enjoy watching a team lose? Seriously.

I get people want a high pick, yeah McKinnon would be great but at the end of the day nothing is guaranteed, we could finish dead last and still not get the first overall pick, happened to Columbus last year. I'd rather move assets for picks and try to trade up in the draft then watch the team lose out miserably for the next month. Once you create a culture of losing it is very hard to get rid of.

We did?

The drive for 9. Honestly, I'd be fine with winning the rest of our 7 home games (i'm going to most), and losing the rest on the road (9).

16 game home winning streak and a 19 game away losing streak has to be some sort of record.

Looking at Sportsclub stats, that 7-9 record would get us around 4th -6th worse in the league, so right on course to get a bit lucky in the lottery to move us into a top 3 pick hopefully.
