I haven't figured out what I want yet. I've been looking.
Ideally I'd like something with both white and yellow gold, and some sort of Celtic design, but simple. So yeah, I've had no luck haha

This is a store in Toronto but they have a number of designs to give you an idea at least.

Simple, 14 carrot white gold about 5 or 6mm width. I like a low profile ring - I found the rings that were thick or too wide quite uncomfortable. This one doesn't feel like you're wearing it at all. Similar to the one Table posted, but terribly scratched now.

Well then it's silver, ha. It's a little duller and full of hairline scratches. I kind of like it better that way... character lines!

I meant, if it were silver, it would be black with tarnish.

I thought the secrets of Damascus Steel were lost to the ages? Kind of like Greek Fire and that sort of thing. Also, the Etsy page says they used Damascus Steel in Japan, but last I checked Damascus was in modern day Syria.

Yeah they had a 9mm one, but I got the 6mm one because a larger ring could interfere with playing guitar.

Here's mine:
I bought it from Dana Dow Jewellers in South Centre. Model number: WB-7108-M10 (although I have seen it as WB-7108SP)
http://www.janinas.com/inventory/?page=4&designer=8
It was originally made of 10k gold. I quickly found out that I have a nickel allergy (white gold is made by dying the yellow gold with nickel) and had to have it either replaced or fixed.
Dana Dow contacted CrownRing and they offered to re-make my ring out of palladium. I paid a bit extra, but at least I didn't have to replace the ring. We had already had all our wedding photos using the original white gold ring.
So if I can offer any advice it's this: make sure you don't have a nickel allergy, if you're buying a white gold ring.
Seems like a lot of the tungsten and titanium rings are pretty cool now.

Oh, here are some other little helpful tips.
- Bigger hands? 7mm width rings (in my opinion) look better. Anything smaller looks a little dainty.
- I like the CrownRing designs because they're curved on the inside. Hard to explain. But they're very comfortable and feel natural around the finger.
- Get a ring that will compliment the lady's ring. Ie: she got white gold, so I also got a white ring.
That's all I got. Hope that helps.

Silver oxide doesn't really stick around if you wear the ring all the time. Trust me.

If you wear it and go swimming and it turns dark grey, it's silver. Mine is intentionally silver oxide.

Just curious, why? Unless you are holding left hands a lot while facing each other, who will ever know?

... in actuality though, white gold comfort fit ring.. although not really that comfortable of a fit since it tends to rub on the adjacent fingers and it bugs the hell out of me.
