Having to explain why you killed yourself and your feelings for your family/friends can give you good grounding on the things in your life that are valuable and worth having a long and happy life for. It might give the educators some insight into which students are actually having these kinds of thoughts.
I don't think it would lead anyone to commit suicide that likely wouldn't do it anyways but I do question the benefit of asking 13-14 year old kids that likely all have issues in terms of how they view themselves to "talk about the disgust you have for yourself." It seems like a really tough time in a childs life in terms of trying to fit in and feeling bad about yourself and there are better ways to talk about suicide than having them focus on the negatives about themselves.

I think it would be a better project for older kids who are more secure in themselves or done without the focus on what disgusts you about yourself aspect.
