Potential Bronze in wrestling, and what else?

About the only other thing of note for Canada after the wrestling is the 10m Platform Diving Qualifiers. Considering we medalled in the synchro version I assume our divers should advance at least to the semis. In the Mens Decathlon we have a guy near the top through the first few events but I don't think he is considered a contender.
There is also the Mens 200m Semi-Final with Bolt/Blake jogging their way into the finals.

We could medal in some of the BMX/mountain biking events. I believe we have medal hopefuls in both events.

Only the BMX seeding races were today and we only have an athlete in the Mens. I know we have one of the favourites in the Womens Mountain Bike but that's one of the last events (Saturday).

so why is it that in women's soccer, the US and Canada can compete with anyone, but in men's it's a completely different story? do the traditional men's soccer powerhouses like Spain, France, Italy, Brazil, etc just not have any kind of programs setup for girls to get into the game? seems weird that none of those nations even made any noise in the women's soccer event

I think the simplest answer is men's soccer in those nations is actually critical to the national sports infrastructure, and thus receive much more funding and attention than the women's teams. Here in North America, most of the best male athletes choose football, basketball, baseball and hockey before soccer. With women's sports, soccer is probably the biggest and most visible of women's sports in North America, hence why our teams are probably a lot better. I mean it's been routinely mentioned this week that Christine Sinclair is the best female athelete we've ever produced.

Mens 200 M Semi goes at 1:10 PM Calgary time. We now have two wrestlers going for bronze as our 63kg wrestler came through the repechage. I think the first medal match is at 11:45.

Looks to be 1:10pm.
I haven't tried CTV's website but their Ipad app has been pretty useful for finding out what is going on, or watching anything that has finished.

It's also a cultural thing.Women in US and Canada are celebrated and encouraged to be soccer players (or athletes in general)
Brazil, the home of soccer some say, shun women who are athletes. There are stories of Marta, argueably the greatest female player, who's father disowned her for playing soccer. It's just not something a girl does. So when the pool of players is so small in the so called countries like Brazil, France, Italy, Spain.. it's tough.
It's better now but the US have a huge head start on everyone and can sustain it. Norway and China also started early but haven't been able to sustain it.
