Doubt it's LSD. It can make you do weird things, but I've never heard it make someone that violent. LSD has long been a scapegoat in the states and the focal point of many an urban legend.

Funny someone mentioned PCP. Was watching 'Walk Hard' the other day with a friend and at the time Dewey Cox flips out on his PCP trip I turn to my friend and say, 'you know, I've never heard someone say, or read a story of someone talking about a really great PCP trip. All I've ever heard are stories of people going berserk. I've heard 'good' things about pretty much every other substance but I've never heard of someone talking up the awesomeness of PCP.' Haha. So that's a possibility I guess. But I still don't know.

I think, like someone already mentioned, it may be a case of someone being OFF their meds. Like that sad case in Canada on the greyhound.

The president of the Miami Fraternal Order of Police, Armando Aguilar believes the entire incident is the fault of a new drug trend that has led to similar incidents. Emergency room doctors at Jackson Memorial Hospital said they too have seen a major increase in cases linked to the street drug called “bath salts” or what is sometimes referred to on the street as “the new LSD”.
“We noticed an increase probably after Ultra Fest,” said emergency room Dr. Paul Adams, at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Quote:
In many of the cases, Dr. Adams said the person’s temperature has risen to an extremely high level, they’ve become very aggressive. Some have used their jaws as a weapon during attacks. Dr. Adams said the patients were in a state of delirium.
They were “Extremely strong, I took care of a 150 pound individual who you would have thought he was 250 pounds,” Dr. Adams said. “It took six security officers to restrain the individual.”
Quote:
Adams said the extreme strength and violence of patients on “bath salts” has become a significant threat to all those charged with the task of trying to help those high on the drug, which unlike the original LSD is a stimulant.
“It’s dangerous for the police,” Adams said. “It’s dangerous for the fire fighters. It’s dangers for the hospital workers taking care of them because they come in, they have to be restrained both chemically and physically and you’re asking for someone to get hurt.”

There's apparently a picture available of the victim. You do not want to look at it.

NSFW!

Oh boy, I just saw he pictures of the man that was attacked, and this is nothing to laugh at. He literally has no face from the top of his lips to the top of his skull. I have no idea how this guy will survive. I cannot imagine the agony this guy would have been, and is in now. It is one of those "Just put me out my misery." situations if I was in it.

I won't link it, but it is on the front page of liveleak right now.

edit: looks like Aegyptus linked it, as I was typing this out. Heed the warnings, Not for the squeamish.

Image of the guy before the attack:

More on the story. Just sounds like the poor guy was a homeless drifter that lived under the bridge. As if this guys life wasn't already hard enough.

I have no idea how he's alive. It's somewhat akin to those people who have been attacked by chimps, but I think the damage is more... thorough.

I'm amazed that guy is alive. Those kind of injuries should be fatal...you'd think. He might be turning into a Zomby already.

I've seen some pretty messed up stuff online, but that one is really bad.

No idea how that guy is still alive, or even what they can do for him at this point.

Special effects artists working on zombie films could learn a lot from this.

I really wish Tapatalk would actually recognize those NFSW tags. I'm glad I didn't eat breakfast.
