I dont blame the cop one bit, guy likely high as a kite endangers hundreds of Calgarians lives after stealing a car, then flees police then doesnt obey police orders to get on ground, turns and brandishes what could be a gun and gets shot.

Another ###### gets killed, no tears shed from me.

Cops dont get a second chance, if you are dumb enough not to obey the cop then you get what you deserve imo.

The inhumanity of it all is baffling. The real question remaining though is:

What happened to the screwdriver? Did the Cop drink it? While on Duty? Or did he clock out for a couple minutes?

I think the cop is in trouble it was not a screwdriver it had Galiano in it so it was actually a Harvey Wallbanger.

The police are only human I know I would make that mistake too.

So based on the mood of this thread, it seems the consensus is this guy got what was coming to him.

I knew it, everyone from Calgary is a screwdriver wielding maniac. That is all the proof I need. Was he wearing a Flames jersey too?

Glad to hear no police officers got hurt (or anyone else not wielding a screwdriver).

Based on how the criminal dropped after getting shot, I'm leaning towards the drink in question being a Gladiator.

As expected perhaps . . .

http://www.calgaryherald.com/health/...540/story.html

The man who was killed by police in a shooting early Thursday morning was a drug addict recently released from prison for trafficking.

According to the parole documents for Jonathan Rawlings, 36, he was sentenced in 2006 to a three-year, four-month sentence for various drug charges.

The parole board was concerned that every time he got out of prison, he would eventually break his conditions of release by taking or selling drugs, getting arrested by police and sent back to jail.

“Returning to incarceration has not been a deterrent for you and your involvement in the drug trafficking business indicates that your own issues with substance abuse are current with no great effort of abstaining or remaining crime free,” wrote the parole board.

If cops are running away from criminals, we got bigger issues.

One of the other parties in this (the one who got shot by the rubber bullet) is now facing 18 criminal charges:

Quote:
  • dangerous driving
  • flight from a peace officer
  • possession of stolen property over $5,000
  • possession of stolen property under $5,000
  • possession of weapon dangerous to the public peace x 2
  • breach of recognizance x 12

I for one, applaud the CPS for finding a "17 cent solution" in this case.
