Yes downtown is much safer than the suburbs. There hasn't been a shooting downtown in years and i don't think there are any grow ops either.

Little boxes, on the hillside, little boxes made out of ticky-tacky, little boxes...

I know one way to get rid of the unwanted neighbor. Maliciously and almost routinely frosh the house with eggs and veggies. It got that family in hawkwood kicked out by their landlord after people found out it was where the young mother who placed her live baby in the garbage bag resided. True story.

Or just blanket the neighbourhood with flyers about the guy. Every sign post and mailbox for a 5 block radius.

Sick bro! All I am saying is suburbs vs inner city is the exact same fight as renting vs owning. Each person has their own views on it. It is just ######ed when people make claims of an area without knowing anything about it. But since that is what happens on CP I will make one :

Everyone in the inner city are crackheads because I see them at the bottle depot when I walk by it on the way to work

Call bylaw on the hood truck. You shouldn't have to look at that.

A little farmer wealth in the neighbourhood adds character.

They're in the SE? Well, poop - it's like they're no different than Forest Lawn then. No wonder.

i'd like too - but i'll just wait a bit and ask the dad the eta on the length of the project - but in the meantime it just totally aggravates me with respect to who in thier right mind does that - if that was my kid i'd be on him to get ti towed to a proper place to work on it, or getting it in my garage......

If you have a problem call 311. Just like ice build up on sidewalks if people dont shovel a day after it snows call 311 and it will kick them in the pants to get going. If you don't call nothing will ever happen

I don't wish to add to the inner city vs. suburbs debate, but the crime rates downtown must be way higher. Must be a place to look up stats on this type of thing, but I can't imagine the crime rates are even close to comparable. I have a bunch of friends living downtown, I have never had any of them argue that the crime rate is low. They actually justify all the crap that they see and hear with things like convenience to 40 local restaurants within a short walk.

Wow I knew I left mckenzie towne at a good time crossing 52nd street to the safety of new brighton. Almost 3 times as many crimes in the last 6 months

To be fair, isn't the (downtown) core home to many more multiples of people versus these outskirt communities? Are you comparing rates or just absolute numbers of crimes?
