Yesh, not cool. Hmmm you can search online for grow ops in Calgary - can you do the same for such individuals? If I had kids of my own, I'd probably like to be aware. Or is ignorance bliss?

I looked online at the Sex Offender Registry and its only available to law enforcement and not the public.

I gotta figure out a way to get that a-hole off my street.

Out of curiosity what does the guy look like? I'm picturing mid-forties, slightly balding with side part and those 80's/90's wire rimmed glasses.

Violence can happen anywhere. We had a murder just down the street from us in 2006 - in Garrison Green. My wife saw the cop cars and I walked down there to see what was happening and the next thing you know I was getting TV cameras shoved in my face.

Agree about the sex offender thing though. I think the general public has a right to know about individuals like that living in their neighborhood.

the neighborhood is the basically a powder keg waiting to explode.........i can hardly wait to get home from vacation tomorrow as I live in NB just a slapshot away from da club......

This is like what is happening in big US cities. A few decades ago, the working rich moved to the suburbs and let the inner city rot. The inner city turned into ghost towns as the suburban commuters went home and crime went up in the evenings. Homes cost more in the suburbs.

Now the working rich don't want the long commutes and have moved back to the inner city. The working poor in the inner city get priced out and move to the suburbs where it's now cheaper. The working poor are more likely to sustain to blue collar crime like grow ops and shootings ala New Brighton. The inner city with walking-friendly infrastruture with more restaurants, shopping and after workhour activities polices itself.

It's a recent, glaring stat mostly due to the working rich not wanting long commutes to work, the arts, sporting venues, restaurants etc.

New Brighton is the worst neighborhood in the city. The clean streets, nice houses and quality infrastructure is all a facade for grow-ops and puppy mills. We should raze the entire area before this horrible plague can spread.
