I am Canucks fan who is visiting Calgary this week. When I was walking along Macleod Trail South near Southland Avenue around 5 pm on Sunday March 6th a driver in a beat up Pontiac Grand-Am flipped the bird at me. The whole reason this d-bag did it was because I had a Canucks jersey and scarf on. I don't mind getting teased with clever insults but it just seems pathetic to randomly flip the bird at someone because you don't like the team they cheer for. Anyway, I still have enjoyed my time so far in Calgary. Almost everyone I have encountered has been friendly and courteous.
I don't understand you wearing a jersey in Calgary when there wasn't a game here. maybe the guy was just pointing you in the direction to Anaheim.
Do you sleep in the damn thing too?

Grow up, I nearly was beat up by 3 canuck fans in a park because I was wearing a chicago hawks jersey. They confronted me pushed me in the chest, told me to take it off. I told them I lost a bet to my friend who was a hawks fan and I had to wear it around, they left me alone.
Besides that incident I was told to F off when I held the door open for a guy and people driving by in cars screamed countless obscenities at me.
That's fine, but don't complain when some d-bag in Vancouver flips the bird at you simply because you are wearing a Flames jersey.
Hate to break it to you, but this would be much tamer than what actually happens when I wear my Flames jersey around in Van.
The usual go to for Vancouver D-bags is to yell "fag" while driving by. Kind of ironic considering the gay population in Vancouver.
The funniest time, was once when me and my brother were walking towards GM place for a game both wearing our jerseys. Some Surrey Shore D-Bag in an escalade rolls down his window and yells "fagg***"; just as a lesbian couple coincidentally happened to be walking just in front of us.
The painful looks on their faces as they thought he was yelling at them was priceless. After a few seconds they turned around and realized he was yelling at us, but for a few seconds they were crushed that they had just been subject to a homophobic driveby attack.

Must have missed you with the door.

I wear my Flames jersey at Rogers Arena during games there. I have been heckled with worse than someone flipping me the bird. I don't get angry, as I am wearing the jersey of the opposing team in Vancouver. Sometimes I humour them back, sometimes I ignore them and sometimes I bring up their lack of Cups, flopping goalie and generally whiny fans. Never once have I gone on a canucks fan site and cried about it.
Calgary sports fans are brutal. Flipping the bird and all. Oh hello there...
