The US or Iran?

Two things can be true at once, your sentiment and the fear that the US has opened up a can of worms here that may be very, very messy.

What makes you think this is their demise? One man is dead.

There is a very good chance that this void is filled by far worse men who will push Iran to extremes that make the previous leadership look kind by comparison.

All of those countries have a significant U.S. military presence. And the Saudis are onside with the attacks on Iran. No love lost between Iran and the Arab world.

What kind of regime do you think that could look like that would make this one seem kind? Because there was nothing kind about those theocratic thugs with their secret police that brutalized citizens including women who dressed “inappropriately”. I guess North Korea could be a comp. Man I sure hope not. But this one belongs in the dumpster.

I guess we'll see. You also may be right with your opinion that the rulers that the US/Israel put in place if they are successful with a regime change will end up with a better situation for Iranians. We do have historical events such as the regime changes in Iraq and Libya. Those people CRAVE western style governments for sure.

You realize that the secret police responsible for all those deaths was inherited directly from the Shah? when the clerics took over they just rebranded the Savak, the Shah's secret police.

The previous regime was equally as brutal and the next regime will likely also be just as bad, in the meantime, as in Iraq, several hundred thousand Iranians will die in the civil war that seems likely to break out

Saddam Hussian was even worse than Kohmani, alot worse by far, and yet toppling did not make life in Iraq better but infinatly worse, vastly more Iraqis died violent deaths in the 20 years since the war and the country is still gripped by bloody sectarian conflict, basically all we did in Iraq was get 3 or 400,000 Iraqis murdered and throw all the rest in poverty stricken chaos just to end up with a just as brutal but economically poorer country

There are and have been sooo many worse regimes in the world. Just look at Taleban for a possible example what the country could turn into.
