That stick-in-the-face-through-the-net garbage from Benn on Mangiapane was bush league garbage, but the Flames seem fine with it. Yup. It’s a huge concern. Benn slewfoots our guy dangerously into the boards, nothing. We retaliate and it’s likely a power play goal for them.

Yeah because the Oilers totally play a tight checking trap game like Dallas is using to keep these games close...

It’s no understatement the next two or three games will define this franchise for years.

To be accurate, they don’t need 3 straight, just 3

I feel like the flames will rise to the challenge but the oilers are a different proposition with him they were pushover before that. I know everyone here hates kane and was opposed to it on gut feel but comparing him very toffoli right now performance wise in the playoffs is a huge difference maker

I am really trying hard to not allow my usual pessimism take hold, but damned if we haven't seen this movie already repeatedly. Amazing regular season only to fall flat against a vastly inferior team. I am praying Monday the Flames we remember from the regular season show up, but I'll be honest. Past history with this team does not have me feeling too good about the team's prospects going forward.

Tkachuk takes a penalty and draws one too. Now we're at 4 on 4 and it changes the flow. We're good 5 on 5 but can't because of all the calls disrupting the flow. Tkachuk takes 5 for fighting and that ruins the flow of the lines.
Tkachuk is making the after whistle side show a big deal and he's dragging the team into it too.
He showed in the regular season that he can play well and be judicial in how and when he becomes a pest. As soon as the playoffs started he forgot what made him good this year and upped his shenanigans game but not his hockey game. He needs to refocus and the team will too.

I was one of those who thought the Flames would be able to take this in 5 or 6 games. I probably underestimated the Stars, but I think it's more that I overestimated the Flames. I didn't think we would see the team play a disappearing act again this year, but that's largely what we've had. Tkachuk is a ghost. Toffoli and Jarnkrok have been net negative contributors. Lindholm is getting dominated in faceoffs. Backlund is showing zero offensive flair or confidence. Flames have been bobbling pucks all over the ice. The list could go on.
The regular season Flames were fun to watch, and played with confidence. The post-season Flames are playing like a different, much worse team. Dallas has much to do with that, but the Flames are also really underperforming. Whatever it is that goes on with the Flames mentally once the regular season ends, it makes them a worse team.
Dallas are playing a good game, they're up in the series, and they have memories of being able to knock the Flames out just two years ago. The Flames are playing a mediocre game, they're down in the series, and they seem to have forgotten that they can win.

Would absolutely LOVE to know why anybody gives one single ###### about ANY celeb and their love lives, angst, children, work or anything else for that matter. They're just people doing people things. (Actually an honest question.)

Than you should be well aware that two of the three best runs in team history featured a team that needed OT in game 7 to get thru round one and a team that trailed the series at some point in the first round. In both cases those teams needed to string together a two game win streak to turn the series back in their favor.
They'll need to do that again to make the next round. Time to see what these guys are made of and if they can do it.

^^^great take JohnnyB
That’s why it was so absolutely critical for the Flames to win games 2 or 3.
I believe it’s all about DAL now. They have all the confidence, all the momentum and if they stick to their game plan they know they will be beat the Flames. I totally underestimated them. And look they didn’t even play Radulov last night.
Of course you have to play the games and maybe we get a break or two to turn things around, but I am resigned to a rinse repeat scenario for games 4 and 5.

Yes and I'm also the guy who has seen them fall flat on their face more times than I can count. I always hope but find it very fleeting when it come to the Flames.

That was ugly.
Got me thinking about people saying "Flames have been playing playoff hockey all season."
No, they haven't. And they don't seem to be able to find the next gear. So far.
NOW is the time for the Coach to earn his salary.

So what if, now hear me out, we send Lucic out to beat Pavelski utterly senseless at the start of the game, let's see Joe ruin our night when hes suffering the effects of essentially being kicked in the head by a horse.
Desperate times call for Spartan measures.

What lineup changes do we anticipate for tomorrow? If Sutter leaves it status quo, I'll have lost faith in him as a coach and motivator. In my opinion, Stone should come in for Kylington, move Coleman back with Backs and Mang, move Ruzicka in, Ritchie out and slide Jarnkrok to the wing with Lewis and Lucic.

if they lose the series i'm blaming mt everytime he fights his offense disappears and he disappears...he fought right at the start and he was done for the game, when mt is going, the flames are going.
