I went into the tournament with low expectations. Croatia is old and Covid threw everyone for a loop.

But after watching the masterclass from Luka and the deft touch of Perisic, I think this core might have a chance at a trophy again.

The youngsters aren’t as good as they need to be to continue this high level I think.

Here’s to hoping. I’ll buy everyone a beer if we win Euro 2020

What do you think of playing Spain next? Can Croatia hold the ball? I think that's a fascinating battle of midfields.

For Group F, I think it's almost certain that First will play Switzerland, Second will play England and 3rd will play either Belgium or Netherlands (they'll know by kickoff) So I think there's a lot to play for.

That's amazing, dont change a thing.
I don't think that's very sound logic. The games have been meaningful because relatively few teams are eliminated in the group stage and there are lots of inter-group tie-breakers. The former means that many games are of lower consequence and the latter can be considered unfair.

Either morning game should be good as all four teams are still fighting for the top two spots. I think the Poland game should be the better one but I am biased.

Sweden-Poland should be the more entertaining morning game.

Spain will just pass around the ball for 90 minutes against Slovakia.

A Poland win, combined with a Spain-Slovakia draw would be interesting though. You'd have Sweden, Poland, and Slovakia all on 4 points. And Spain out of the competition without losing a game.

Portugal-France is the game of the day though starting at 1:00MT

Spain will probably still survive in your scenario. It'll come down to goal difference, maybe even fair play. I think Sweden would be last. They are only 1-0 +1 right now.

I'll probably watch Spain to laugh at them.

The entertainment of the Spain game is to see how many sitters Morata is going to miss.

Germany/Hungary has been hyped all week.

The Germans have been trying to be pro-LGBTQ all week presumably just to piss off the Hungarians.

They wanted to light the Allianz Arena in rainbow colours which rustled many a jimmy in the Hungarian FA prompting UEFA to step in and politely ask the Germans to stop antagonizing the Hungarians.

Its been fun!

But yeah, France/Portugal is going to be interesting.

France are largely Tournament favourites, but getting an own-goal against Germany and drawing against Hungary isnt exactly setting the tournament on fire and this match against Portugal could easily go either way.

I don't think the Portugal game will be all that entertaining, Portugal just basically have to avoid a 3-0 or worse (and a Hungary miracle win I guess) and they are through. I expect they are parking the bus.

Who lets Morata take penalties? I'd let the keeper take it over him.

You have to figure at some point 'not this time, surely not again' but nope. Reliable as Swiss clockwork.
