Disrespectfully, nobody asked you, and based on your previous comments, nobody with half a brain functioning would.

The things that people like Theo get hung up on is crazy.
There are Indigenous children without clean drinking water, and then there are kids getting read to in public settings. Which one do you think they focus on.

If only Indigenous children had an ex-NHL player that could advocate for them.....if only.

I think it's a great way to humanize the community, and to teach kids tolerance and understanding of people who live life a bit differently.
Family Junior shows "The fabulous show with fay and fluffy" and my daughter loves it.
It's fun, and she also learns life lessons, not just about gay people or drag performers, but it helps teach how to deal with different feelings (such as disappointment) and understanding and accepting people of different cultural backgrounds, too.
I'd love for you to explain to me how it's something weird. Kids are being educated on becoming better people and sometimes heck, they're just getting more story time. nothing weird about that.
It's more weird and maddening) that people are demonizing trans and drag people to the point where they're normalizing them being being threatened, beaten and killed. The hate people are teaching their kids towards a community is more "weird" than a fricking storytime with a guy in a dress.
|
Most people that aren't terminally online aren't familiar enough with drag shows or the current contrived right wing argument to think through it. Storytime with a guy in the dress wouldn't bothe r most people, but outside of the right wing echo chamber and the bettles on twitter/facebook, most people don't know what this issue you're well aware of is.
There's nothing wrong with a guy in a dress reading a story to kids, and there's nothing overtly sexual in and of itself about drag in general. I think the progress made on this front is great. But most of this progress is in a social media space that most people offline aren't a part of and they move slower on progress. The bonus is they don't also have to know what Theo Fleury has to say about the matter
Ask a rando from 2006 about taking a "kid to a drag show" and people would think that's weird. Full stop.

The only thing I find "weird" about it is my own discomfort as a parent in how to talk about or answer any questions appropriately and accurately. Which in itself is a strong argument for why it is good for these events to exist.
I find it far weirder how fringe/conspiracy folks seem to be so obsessed with pedophilia.

I did a quick poll and 10/10 people agree that you're a queerphobic asshat.
Is ALL drag all age appropriate? No. But is some of it, yes.
That's like saying a wiggles cover band shouldn't perform for kids, because any other music group has explicit lyrics.

Does Theo still worship Donald Trump, the guy that actually consorted with convicted pedophiles and child sex traffickers?

That’s why I think the org just narrows the availability of numbers and somebody has to pick it. It sucks, but they just need to pull that bandage off already.

We should re-sign Krys Kolanos so he can retire a Flame and give him #14.
Or maybe Jamie Lundmark? Give 'em #14 and then 'Forever a Flame' them and that way you free up the number!

Probably worth considering a defamation action over. Idiots like Fleury need to learn a lesson or two.

Calling it drag story time is kind of misleading. Why does it need to be gendered at all. Just calling it Princess story time where people dressed as princesses read stories to kids. No one would be angry once they stop flaunting the drag part right ……

Labeling drag performers as "groomers" because of their proximity to children might be the most opaque demonstration of hate I've seen in my life...
...so far.
