this is the first year i can remember the Flames not actively carrying a paperweight in the lineup. Let's watch it unfold and make observations after more than just 1 period.
We did, and Hamonic got his ass kicked.

I agree, a heavyweight is useless in the lineup. Except for when the other team has a dirt bag. Someone on your team is going to step up, you don’t want it to be a player that should be logging regular minutes.

I’m torn on the whole thing.... I don’t want a Tom wilson and I don’t want a guy who can only fight.

Early for that.

Period was really scrambly for both teams.

See how your guys rebound. 1st game jitters are wearing off, it's go time.

There is still merit to having a guy that can step up in this case. Burkie is correct. Gudbrandson isn't an enforcer either. He just is tougher than any player the Flames iced this evening. Hammer isnt the one that should be taking g care of this. Yes hammer can usually hold his own but is always going to have a tough time against someone like Gudbrandson, who as I stated beat Prout in the past.

Until they change the told rules, you're going to get loses on the score board and loses to injury.

It wasn't even close to a legal hit...puck was nowhere near him

Boys look intimidated, that’s what happens when you don’t have someone in your corner who can handle business.

It’s a psychological effect.

Canucks are flying, Pettersson isn’t scared out there at all.

You don’t fight Gudbranson, you light up Boeser or Petterson, or better yet score on a bloody power play....

Nah. This time the old school guys were 100% on it. Eller deserved what he got.

And he got a penalty. How about scoring on the powerplay to settle the score?

That was not a hockey play, that was a blind side hit.

But you don’t need to drop the gloves, you score on the penalty and you took note of the number and some time later in the 50 remaining minutes you see a chance to make a good solid hit on his ass and leave both those statements of what comes of that crap.

Eller can celebrate but why does he have to taunt the Bruins bench up 7-0?

Marchand took care of that.

I thought the Flames played quite well for long stretches, but the PPs took the wind out of their sails, and they had a few defensive misreads.

They'll clean up defensively, but need to fix the PP
