One highly connected scout says the Florida Panthers are as interested in Nikolaj Ehlers, the flashy Danish left-winger who plays with the Halifax Mooseheads in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, as they are in Swedish right-winger William Nylander. I've seen Ehlers listed at 170 and 6' lately. He was 162 before this season started. He actually looks more broad shouldered than Bennett and I don't think size will be an issue. He's an electrifying skater and I certainly see him as a better prospect than Dal Colle. Nobody knows how Nylander will adjust to the North American ice/game but these concerns (and concerns about ability or willingness to play defence) don't apply to Ehlers. If the Flames don't get a centre, I hope they take Ehlers as I think he'll be scary good.
