Yeah, they were worth a point.

Moyes is making some complete headscratching decisions.

Evans and Jones looked pretty solid and he goes and brings on Smalling to CB and moves Jones to MF? That lost two points is on him imo. United got worse due to his substitutions. He's too frickin negative.

Someone doesn't know the rules. Goalkeeper can't be challenged whilst still in possession of the ball.

you have a weird, weird man-crush going on there, man.

Southampton deserved that, they are a nice team to watch. Still sucks though when you can't seal the victory because you hit the crossbar twice and then concede such a stupid equalizer late in the match ... just unnecessary. Moyes got everything right with his selection and then ####ed up everything with his stupid changes.

That Wilshere goal was pure brilliance. Goal of the year for sure.

Ahhh, there you are. I see you're off the turd-droppers bandwagon again now they're sitting bottom half (get it! ).

Mind you, you were never on it proper. Too scary them football games.

I don't know how the rules specifically define possession in this scenario, but personally I'd say he's given up possession when he decided to bounce the ball.

Of course the goalkeeper can be challenged when he has possession of the ball. Players play the ball back to their goalkeepers all the time and strikes always try to close them down before they can boot the ball back up the pitch. How is this any different? When a goalkeeper decides to bounce the ball, how is that any different than when he lays the ball on the ground before striking it with his foot? Of course he can't be challenged when the ball is still in his hands, but possession is a totally different thing.

The goalkeeper is considered to be in possession of the ball:
  • while the ball is between his hands or between his
  • hand and any surface (e.g., ground, own body) or
  • while holding the ball in his outstretched open hand
  • while in the act of bouncing it on the ground or
  • tossing it into the air
When a goalkeeper has gained possession of the ball with his hands, it cannot be challenged by an opponent

Not good, not awful.

Looked like an average MF for a low level EPL club.

I agree, he was. I think Southampton are a really good success story and along with Swansea, a great example of how to build a club and take them to the top.

Soldado's best game for Spurs today, even without the goal, created a lot

Townsend was great again as well

Villa midfield is spineless but with Benteke and the speed on the wings with Wiemann and Agbonlahor they will be dangerous on the counter, just need one holding CM and they can push for top half

spurs forum has someone at the game saying it was lit, and then thrown in to a group of fans, one then picked it up and threw it away, not meaning to hit the linesman

those things are just dangerous

I know they are used in a few countries around Europe but they are really dangerous even when not thrown at people, should just ban them

good thing is CCTV is usually good at finding out who did the stuff like this and the idiot who brought it likely won't be attending any football matches in the EU for the rest of his/her life

Sir Alex Ferguson takes centre stage once again at book launch

As David Moyes sat at Old Trafford attempting to shine a light on Manchester United's future, Sir Alex Ferguson was centre stage in London delivering incendiary revelations about the past.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24625471

I heard a joke the other day which I thought was quite clever. Well it's actually more of a humorous statement than a joke. "David Moyes has finally succeeded in his mission to have Everton above Manchester United in the Premier League table."
