There are lots of reasons this will never happen. First of all families automatically mess this up so that’s the first wrench. Second people don’t want to get split up for this. Third, people are idiots and this is past most peoples comprehension to figure out and abide by,
It would also be messed up by people who have to change concourses and are close to MCT, delayed connections, and people like me who try to time gate arrival to occur as close to the door closing as possible.
I've seen FA's on the ULCC's in Europe take those bags out and tell the passenger it goes under the seat, airlines should do the same here.
I saw a first last week (both flights) while deplaning. People near the back of the plane immediately rushing up the aisle as soon as the aircraft has stopped and before anyone else had even got their things. No carry on other than a personal item so yeah it was easy to do but then they are blocking others near the front who would normally be able to get their things from the overhead bins and deplane, and therefore holding everyone up.
In terms of optimal efficiency letting the people off who don’t have bags probably works better as it would keep people moving off the plane rather than having to wait for people to get bags before starting deplaning. Also a perk for those not having carry on.

No FA is in any mood to police the deplaning order among economy passengers once a flight is completed.
I'm also really shocked at the affordability of attractions in Japan. I thought we'd be getting absolutely killed by entrance fees but all the museums, aquariums, water parks, etc are cheap compared to North America.
Regular adult entry into Disney Japan ranges from $9000-10,000 Yen or about $80-$85 CAD. I can get my family of 5 in for around $250-$300/day CAD.
Regular adult entry into Disneyland or DisneyWorld in the States is more than double that. I was told by a recent family friend to budget around $1000/day CAD for a family of 4 just to get in.

Yeah, it's gotten kinda ridiculous. Vintage video games have basically been wiped out by all the waves of tourists and there were multiple times that we joked about visiting a spot and it was basically - "Okay! Just follow all the white people!"
Joking aside, I'm sure it's a bit obnoxious for native Japanese as some people are just ####ing ignorant #######s. Having to ban tourists from certain neighborhoods and people causing mayhem for social media clout.
Anyone know of a travel service that allows one to book based on aircraft type? Looking for later June 2025, Calgary to Paris and would like for my itinerary to include flying on an A380.
Can anyone give my information on walking/getting around in Lisbon? We’re going with my wife’s 80-year old parents in the fall. They are still quite active but he has a bit of a limp. Have heard it’s quite hilly and cobblestoned. Any neighbourhood flatter than others (just hanging out is one of our plans)?

May I ask why?
In my experience it's like going somewhere in a Suburban when a Lexus LX (A350) is available.

The area from the train station south to the water is fairly flat. Hills rise on either side. We found the better are to hang out for restaurants and such was the west, but it is also hilly.
Their is an elevator on the west side to get to the upper level, and aparantly one on the east side we didn't use. Then their are the street trams, one of which goes up the east side, which is a fun ride up the streets. Their is also a train to the stuff west along the water. But that one crashed into a truck on us, and we ended up walking back! Transit sounds like it does have lots of regular issues. Trams line up so you have to stand and wait a bit. But cabs are around too.
Use Google streetview if you are concerned about the condition of sidewalks and cobbles. Take a browse around.
Crazy. Their current in-flight internet is pretty good (for browsing, not streaming) and free for westjet Mastercard holders. But this is a huge upgrade.

It probably broke multiple terms of service, but I've streamed sports on WestJet/Boingo by routing my traffic through my VPN at home. It worked surprisingly well.
But Starlink sounds pretty good, especially for free.

Thr current internet you can get for free if you have the westjet rbc Mastercard by signing up for a Boingo account. Although you only get a certain amount of time per year (6 hours or something like that). That's been possible for many years, in fact it used to be unlimited.
Their new plan is free for anyone who signs up for a free westjet rewards account, but that won't launch for awhile.
I'd expect the new starlink internet to be faster as well.
My understanding is their 10 year deal with their old provider (Panasonic?) finally expires at the end of the year. I expected a new/better solution, but free is a nice bonus too
It'll be interesting. Porter has free wifi. I could see them going either way - if they think it drives bookings maybe they keep it, although I agree "unbundling" seems to be more the trend.
