This is what is going on. Some people think they are too good for some of your other friends.

That way, in case we are unable to scan left (perhaps due to a debilitating and embarrassing social disease caught from a Thai ladyboy), we know who made the post.

I always ask who else is going to a party, because I am socially awkward to the Nth degree. Just insanely, brutally awkward and shy. I need to know that at least one or two people I feel comfortable around are going to be there, so I have them to talk to while others that I don't know so well are around. It's the only way I can be in a social setting. It's pathetic, but that's how it is.

I once was a very shy person and the only way I overcame that was to put myself in situations where I was always meeting new people. Yes it's ackward at first but overtime you become more comfortable

I'm pretty shy too. My solution is to show up to parties with no pants on. It's a real icebreaker.

When someone on FB posts sh** like this:

"Thought of the day: Transgender people (and their supporters) are implicitly sexist.
Why? Because changing gender is usually associated with the claim that one relates (or some similar word) to the gender other than one's birth sex more than their actual gender. In order to do this, one must claim that there is something about the other gender which is not a property of their gender that they have. This can't be a physical trait, as you cannot logically have a physical tra...it of the other gender that your gender doesn't have (that's called being a hermaphrodite, which is another issue).
Thus the trait must be mental in some way. For me, it's not difficult to claim that men and women are different mentally, as I believe that's how God made us, and we have separate (equal) roles. As I've never heard of a supporter of transgender 'rights' claiming that men and women have different roles, I believe I'm safe in discounting this possibility. So they must claim that:
a) Men and women are different mentally
b) Men and women have no inherent difference in the roles they are suited for
Assuming that a person who supports this kind of thing is logically consistent (I don't actually believe this, but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt), that means that something other than men and women's mental differences accounts for the correction of the disparity in the roles for which they are suited. This can only be gender; hence sexism."

Such a profound argument.

WRGMG is having 3 separate within-reach, and in perfect spec, dream cars (not unlike pylons RX-7) being sold under my nose in the span of a month. All local, so no importing, and all of them looking to be in fantastic shape. I have daily Autotrader/Kijiji alerts setup that somehow missed them. Cars that might take years till I see again...sonofa....

Any one else have a car that they still pout over not buying?

Yep. The '69 Chevelle SS396 I didn't buy in 1991. Still dream about it. It was $9500 and I only had $9000. It would be well over twice that now.

It had to be Arena Red, which is relatively rare, and usually only comes on the higher end S and Turbos (which are way out of my price range) I still have a drawing I did from when I was a kid of an Arena Red Turbo, so it was always the color for me.

- A 94 Mercedes 500e. A V8 E-class built by Porsche. Perfect color combo, and it even had the rare checkered interior. This one probably hurts the most.

- An 05 E-Class 500 wagon. The least "dream car" of them all, but always loved the E-class wagons...and this was another rare V8 version of the car. One-owner with 50k on it, and looked to be immaculately kept. Perfect sleeper daily driver.

I have never seen a narrow body 993 in Arena Red. Funny, back in the day I recall AR being loathed as it was one of the most common colors (along with polar silver) on Turbo / 'S' bodied 993's. I still have my mounted "Kills Bugs Fast" Porsche poster with the Arena Red turbo. Great color that suits the 993 so well. Ironically, I think AR would look swell on a 991 'S' or a 981 Boxster 'S' with a tan top/interior.

I know that 94' 500E you speak of (Rob's car). It was a gooder, particularly since he spent the right money getting it up to snuff.

Yeah, a narrow-body AR is pretty rare, but definitely more common on the higher-end models. I remember that poster vividly.

Any idea why he sold it? It sounded like he spent a ton of time bringing it over from Japan, and put a ton of money into it to make it perfect. It was reasonably priced too. Damn it.

Rob has had several 500E's, not sure why he sold this one but swaps vehicles often. He sent me an e-mail at the beginning of July noting it was for sale (I was not in the market however). I have known Rob for 18 years and he always does things right with his vehicles (you want to buy a used vehicle from Rob). I purchased a 1989 944 Turbo from Rob several years ago and he had just put it through his shop (Riegel Tuning) to ensure it needed nothing. This included the t-belt/waterpump service.

The 500E is a special car, built when Mercedes still cared about inherent quality/reliability. The W124 in any iteration exudes that special, robust quality not really present in their vehicles today.

Yep, pretty much the pinnacle of Mercedes. Those cars look like they were forged from a single piece of granite. Probably the same reason why I like the 911s of that era. Only downside is they only come as automatics...

How much were they selling this one for?
