- However, because you believe that SOME of the 566 tribe leaders MIGHT not care despite all 566 tribe leaders lobbying in Washington WITHOUT being forced to go, then the whole thing couldn't possibly represent how Native Americans feel better than a poll taken a decade ago where all people had to do was say they identified with "Indian"? (You're right, I didn't give the poll credit, instead of making no effort to poll Native Americans, they just required people identify with "Indian", the minimum amount of effort, I apologise).
A poll that represent 768 people a decade ago vs. NCAI (where every tribe and individual Indian gets a vote); the Cherokee, Oneida, Comanche, and Seminole tribes; all together representing over 1.2 million Native Americans of today... and you're going with the poll.
Sweet bro. Good chat then I guess.

Sorry I missed the poll where it says how many of the 566 Leaders support the name change, could you repost it with the question specifically asking that? If not, could you show me a poll of the 1.2 million Natives asking said question? I'll wait patiently .

Right after you show me the credentials of the people who voted in that poll a decade ago.

Just because you choose not to believe it does not make it less valid. Batter up sweet cheeks!

LOL pissing match with the league? The league supports the Redskins;
http://nfl.si.com/2014/01/31/roger-g...redskins-name/
I follow the NFL as much or more than the NHL and it's going to take more than a handful of picketers and a couple of politicians to make them blink an eyelash. Goodell made $40 million last year working for, that's right owners like Dan Snyder. Like I said before the NFL will not force anything on it's owners and Dan Snyder will not change the name. The NFL will simply let this blow over and die.

I'm fully aware of where league stands on this. The comment was in response to Alberta Beef saying that it's completely up to the Redskins when they change the name. My point was that if the league feels enough pressure, they'll tell Snyder to change it, and he's not going to take the league to court. If the league is onside with the name change he'll come along, he's not Al Davis. Also, Snyder is new money, he's not Robert Kraft or the Rooneys. Of course this purely speculative and just my opinion.

Fair, this will likely de-rail, but I had the opposite reaction. I was actually positively surprised about high the correct answer volumes were on most questions (maybe I don't have enough faith and simply have lower expectations than I should in others), especially how our US brothers faired against the rest fo the world. Again, I probably biased to them doing worse.
The only area they really seemed to struggle were on the questions where I'm convinced the "bible belt" beliefs on creationism influenced the answers.
As for electrons and antibiotics, I'm not affraid to admit the electron's question was the only one I had to pause on before answering, just not an area of interest to me so I had to think for a second. I was well aware of the Antibiotics question (inerest to me), but unless you are remebering high school science, work in the medical field, or are ill, why would the average person for sure know about the details on how antibiotics only work against bacterial infections? People tend to just go to the doctor and learn about things as they come up for them.
Anyway, point being, some of those questions aren't particularily partical purpose questions, and I was surprised at how well everyone did on some, and particularily that the US wasn't well behind other countries.

I don't have a link but I recall reading somewhere that Goodell said that they should discuss/consider changing the name if it offends people. The very reason there's a thread for this now and we're discussing it (well, some are discussing others are just internet slapping at each other) is that this issue is gaining more and more momentum.
I've never gotten an answer to the following question so if a pro-Redskins person could answer it I'd appreciate it:
"Why do you support the name Redskins?"
The only answers I've heard so far are the likes of:
-"the PC crowd doesn't get to dictate to me"
-"it's not an offensive term so why should they change it?"
-"there are too many special interest groups and this is all about politics anyways"
But these aren't pro-Redskins arguments, they're anti-anti-Redskins arguments. So what are the pro-Redskins arguments? Who is it helping to have the name Redskins and who will it hurt to remove the name Redskins?

Haven't read the entire thread, but I think it's funny the Washington bullets were nixed in 97 due to violent overtones, yet the redskins prevail. Different scenario of course

I tried increasing my posts per page but when someone posts an over sized picture, it takes too long to get rid of it.
