Really? I don't find anything wrong with what he said, took ownership of his play saying he underperformed and just talked about how gutless it is to be spewing off to the media without putting your name on it. I think the locker room would agree with this. Good for him for what he said.

I just don't think calling your teammates gutless is the way to get them on your side.

That's not what he's saying though and other Jets have actually spoken up this offseason about how much they disliked teammates spouting off to the media without giving their names too. His on the field talent is clearly in question but he actually seems to be a hard worker, leader and good guy off the field. I agree with everything he said in the article, good for him.

Please go to AZ. The Bronco coverage is already insufferable.

I don't think there is a problem with calling them gutless.

However I think the problem is that he did it in the media. By airing the dirty laundry in public he isn't much better than the people he is criticizing.

While it is entertaining to hear this in the media, this stuff really needs to be taken care of in the locker room, not 3 months later in New York media.

Sanchez would have been far better served to take the high road and then deal with the issues when the team gathers.

Manning worked out for Harbaugh and the 49ers earlier this week!

Totally out of left field, all the 49er beat writers were taken by surprise.

All adds to the Alex Smith hasn't signed mystery....

Practice and underwent a physical with the team. Truly amazing that somehow the 49ers were able to do that without any coverage. The plot thickens........

That defense, Randy Moss, Peyton Manning, a running game, a weak division, 49ers would instantly become Superbowl favorites.

The Cardinals have apparently given up and are proceeding as if they are no longer in the Manning sweepstakes.

49ers are currently approx $18 Million under the cap.

Of note: Smith and Manning do share the same agent.

Besides the rumors of Peyton preferring to stay in the AFC, and not a really good measuring stick on the 49ers desire but everything else makes the 49ers the obvious choice for Manning over Denver and Tennessee.

So the fully story now after watching ESPN, they still paint the Broncos and Titans as the front runners calling the 49ers still to be considered a long shot, but Tuesday night Harbaugh and the 49ers offensive coordinator flew down to Duke to watch Manning throw and were very impressed. Impressed enough they sent out doctors to give him a physical the next day.

It's also noted he has yet to visit the 49ers facilities, but their interest is what is keeping this going. Also, every NFL team without a franchise QB looked into Peyton Manning when he became a free agent, not the 12 just reported, although I think most people understood this before.

If Manning signs in SF, they win the Superbowl IMO. That defense is amazing. Alex Smith was the weak link. Adding Randy Moss to help at reciever (and I think he would do well with Peyton) and then Manning would be nuts.

49ers have the NFC East on the schedule this year. The Giants and Eli will be making their 3rd trip to Candlestick, but it is 3 time zones away. Tennessee is much closer to home.

It will all come down to what Peyton's priorities are and where he feels he will fit best.

What do you guys think....

If Denver doesn't sign Manning, doesn't Tebow still have to go? With Skip Bayless publicly imploring him to demand a trade in response to his 'mistreatment' long before Peyton Manning became a free agent and the Broncos' more than obvious lack of trust in him as a permanent starter, do you think the Broncos will look to move him anyway?

I dont think they have a choice...they have made it perfectly clear that Tebow is not their guy moving forward, and as such why would you go into the season with a lame duck QB? Why would he want to for that matter? I still believe he ends up in Jax, one way or another.

Who would be Denver's QB then though? Personally, I think Tebow is terrible and shouldn't be a starter but if Manning doesn't sign in Denver, and they get rid of Tebow, who starts?

One of Alex Smith, Kevin Kolb, or Matt Hasselbeck.

Who cares!

It was fun watching Tebow's intangibles overcome his lack of polish last year, but I don't want to watch it every year or again.

I expect them to draft one of the top 6 or so QBs regardless of what happens with Manning.

That said, I think they can find someone to bridge the gap. Maybe it will be Alex Smith....maybe Matt Hasselback.

Apparently the Eagles are looking at Plaxico. I'd be okay with that.
