Is it a wheeltech hub? My Rocky Element came with those, and it had 2 failures, fixed under warranty. They are not my favourite hubs. Though this latest one has held up, they re-designed the pawl mount to be thicker.
This is mine after one failure:
You can see where the metal is really thin and cracked.

It is a stan's hub - 330 or something. I followed up with the boys at the path today and it sounds like it will be a warranty repair. The only downside is my bike is there taking up space for the next week at least, which is crappy as I feel like I am in great biking shape, with no mountain bike to ride.....guess I'll have to ride my commuter.
If the repair winds up costing me money, I'll likely consider new hoops although I am not looking to spend $1,000 or so right now.

Back at it after almost 2 weeks away from riding. Added 8lbs while on vacation and had to lug the laptop back to work but still felt great.
Anyone else doing the Ride to Conquer Cancer this weekend?

No time this year, and fundraising was getting tougher. I'd like to do it again one day. I put in my 5 years in a row, so the break is also nice.

You put on 8 pounds in 2 weeks? How is that possible? What were you eating, lard?

We went to an all-inclusive for 10 days. When you start drinking beer each morning at 10am and don't shy away from the fried food, bacon, pastries, etc. the weight can "sneak" up on you.
Eating at some gross Guy Fieri restaurant at the Cancun airport on the way home didn't help. That trip to Flavourtown probably added a couple pounds by itself.

quick dirty math gets it to about 2000 calories above what you burned a day to get you 8lbs over 14 days. You clearly did not find a bike while you were there lol.

If I started drinking at 10am I wouldn't be looking for a bike either.

I found a place where you could get bikes. I also saw a few people riding.
The roads were pretty sketchy for longer rides though and the timing just didn't work out.
Also, it was 8lbs in 10 days...it was fun though.

Just gotta bust out some marathon rides now to counterbalance.

The Cancer ride this weekend should do the trick.
Here's the route. Reverse it for Day 2: https://www.strava.com/routes/10098603

Jeez, they are doing the highway 8 section again? I hated that when they did it a few years ago. So sketchy.

Gah, could have easily moved a PR up by 2-3 seconds, but a few cars had to blast by me just before the a traffic circle, and of course they all slowed way down, causing me to have to slow down unnecessarily.

Heading down to Sandpoint for the week and we're doing a side trip to do The Route of the Hiawatha.
Everyone who has done it has said good things. Anyone been?
http://www.ridethehiawatha.com/
THE "CROWN JEWEL" OF RAIL-TO-TRAIL ADVENTURES
The Route of the Hiawatha mountain bike or hike trail is 15 miles long with 10 train tunnels and 7 sky-high trestles. The ride starts with a ride through the 1.66 mile long St. Paul Pass Tunnel, also know as the Taft Tunnel. It is a highlight of the trail that follows the crest of the Bitterroot Mountains near Lookout Pass Ski Area. The best part is.... it's all downhill with shuttle buses available to transport you and your bike back to the top. This family friendly trail is easily enjoyed by a wide variety of people from young children to super seniors.
