Heck, what if those are the defence rankings?

6. Sergachyev
13. Bean

Biggest take away here is who is slotted in at #5. Has to be a D. Only question is, which one?

Oh if Tkachuk is there at 6, I would love to get him.
If it goes like the following:
AM
PL
JP
MT
PLD
Then at 6, Nylander is my guy. We need skill and offence.

So to trade up to 3rd, the Flames would need to offer the 6th, two 2nds, and a 4th. But of course the trade would be more complex than that.

I think you're reading it wrong. That's too much.
Here's the value chart used: http://statsportsconsulting.com/main..._Schuckers.pdf
According to that, the #3 pick has a value of 809 and #6 is 594. To make up the difference, the Flames would need to add picks with a total value of 215. - Picks 35 (152) and 66 (96) have a total value of 248.
- Picks 35 (152) and 96 (68) have a total value of 220.
- Picks 54 (117) and 66 (96) have a total value of 213.
If the teams weigh the value of picks in a similar manner, one of those would likely be the combination the Flames would have to give up to make the move.

Hope so... better than accidentally letting part of your draft list go public 5 days out, feels like something from the Feaster era.
Trying to dupe the Canucks into passing on Dubois and taking one of the dmen, by planting doubts and suggest another team has him #8? Seems like a pretty elaborate hoax and unlikely to work anyway. Maybe more likely the con would be trying to get Arizona or Buffalo to trade up thinking their dman might be done. I think they actually just unintentionally leaked the list though.

The leak doesn't seem like a big deal... It's from May so likely not the final ranking and with the projected rank out of order in the list with 8 above 6, it's obvious the list is sorted by a trait which we don't see... I wonder what trait it is they're viewing that has whoever they have pegged at 8 overall is higher than the guy they have at 6?

That might explain why Dubois is rated relatively low (8). Hasn't he rocketed up the rankings in the last few months?

But the way the raknings are sparsed out, not likely.

Further complicating things didn't Nylander play LW last season although he shoots right. Also I read that Dubois prefers RW if not playing centre although he shoots left.

The Dubuque Fighting Saints standout is a clear-cut power forward who plays well along the wall and deep in the offensive zone. His puck on hip skills and brute strength are his true assets and often posed problems as a net front presence for opponents. He struggles to keep up when the game is fast paced and will greatly benefit from improved agility and speed at the NCAA Level.

Yeah I was going to say this as well. Dubois plays all 3 positions and has said in interviews he slightly prefers RW. Really hard to assume for the Flames that Dubois must be listed as a LW. Nylander is listed as a LW/RW and sometimes as a LW, sometimes as a RW. Very ambiguous for both. The Flames scouts may list them as what the kids prefer to play, what the scouts project them as, who knows.
Hard to say much of anything based on those blurred out names but Dubois at #6 and Nylander at #8 seems more reasonable to me. It's hard for me to imagine the Flames having Dubois at #8 with Nylander ahead of him but I guess anything is possible. But if you look closely the name at 6 looks longer and I think Pierre-Luc Dubois is longer than Alex Nylander.
The rumour that we're trying to trade up into the top 4 does make a lot of sense to me.

What should @EdmontonOilers do with 4th Overall Pick in @NHL Draft? Results on @TSN_Sports Mock Draft Wednesday.
26%Select Best Defenseman
09%Select Best Forward
22%Trade Down in Draft
43%Trade for NHL Defenseman
Interesting that only 10% of people think the Oilers should take the best forward.

Is it his draft year already? Wasn't he just a little kid when their rebuild started?

The image shows 20s in all categories, which seems unlikely for any player. The is just a screenshot of the app at some early stage or even someone giving a demo. I'm reading nothing into it

Per Bob McKenzie on tsn 1260 this am:
1st tier:
Matthews
Laine
2nd:
Pull-an-RV
3rd:
Tkachuck
Dubois
Nylander
Joulevi
4th:
Long list.
Also reaffirmed that Calgary is trying (or at least has tried) to move up to 3rd.
Edit: should also mention he singled out Keller as being a potential stud.
