Personally I would rather keep Pelletier, Zary and Coronato over trading one for Kratsov

I wouldn’t be looking at them. I’d be looking at a secondary prospect like Heineman and a pick of some sort - a second or third.

If you can turn Heineman and Florida's 2nd into Kravtsov, that would be great. Essentially Bennett for Kravtsov.

But why would NY be interested in Heineman and a pick for Kravtsov?

Because Kravtsov wants more ice time. I don’t know if he would get it here unless we traded a roster player back.

There's a hole at RW next to Mangiapane and Dube. I don't know how comfortable Sutter would be plugging Kravtsov into the lineup right away, but the opportunity would be there for sure.
Get a RW, or a C who will shift Dube to RW on that line. Ideas?
Forsberg
Hertl
Meier
Toffoli
Pavelski
Rakell
Donskoi
Carter
Getzlaf
Brown
Kravtsov

I'm into Forsberg or Rakell, price dependent.
I also like Kravtsov more than most here. I think he will show well over the next few weeks in the KHL. Maybe he stays all season and NYR feels less pressure to trade him now. They still seem to need help on the top 6 wing.
Emil doesn't have a big enough name to draw attention, and our 2nd will be late. Not enough for a top 10 pick, especially if he keeps up how he played his first game back home.

Mangiapane-Dube-Duehr
Lucic-Monahan-Phillips
That is what I want to see before we decide if we need to make a trade.
Externally though, Forsberg would be awesome though.

He’s not playing for them. Ever. So it all depends on other bidders. Who knows what Ottawa is offering, for example.

Eklund (yeah, I know!) says the Flames are interested in Jonathan Toews.

Big no thanks to Toews and his contract. Aside from all the other noise surrounding him and the Hawks this year and also aside from the fact that he missed all of last year I honestly don’t see the fit for him and his contract on this roster. Thankfully it’s just crap Eklund is throwing out there so I’m not too worried.

I don't know how it would work cap and NTC-wise, but Jacob Silfverberg would fit in well here.
Fast RHS, two-way guy with decent offensive numbers and can play in pretty much any situation.

Seems like an easy connection for Eklund to make. Chicago may trade their core players as they suck as a team and the Flames just tried to acquire a $10M center.
Can’t see it happening for a few reasons. Firstly they would need to retain a ton of the salary. I could see Monahan+1st for Toews retained $4M but would think Chicago would want nothing to do with that.
With that said I could see Toews being a solid fit on this team specifically for the playoffs

I’d be interested in Toews at 50% retained. Wouldn’t give up much more than a 2nd and a B-level prospect for him though. And even that seems a bit high for his current production. 0 goals so far this year.

Neither Kane nor Toews seem interested in leaving Chicago, they've had their chances in the last few years. They have their Cups, why would they move?

Likely to get away from an organization that is entrenched in mud right now.
I could see 1 or both waiving at the deadline this year or at the draft next

I would want a nice sweetener to take on that Toews deal.
To CGY: Jonathan Toews + 2 AHLers + 1st
To Chi: Milan Lucic + Zadorov+ Pitlick
