Found out last night that Tyson Jost is actually from Fort Saskatchewan, not Kelowna as most outlets report. I have family in the Fort, and Jost's family has been there for 50+ years. Tyson was raised by a single mom, who worked her ass off to provide for him and allow him to get where he is today. He is apparently, a wonderful young man.
Stories like these make me cheer for the kid.

Sabres video on the top forwards outside the big 3. They compare Nylander to Eberle, like I did lol
They can make the comparison but it isn't true imo. Nylander not only has a better shot and more skill but has no issue going into the dirty areas to score and while not a defensive 2 way player he does come back, much like Johnny does with us.
PHI GM on the draft. Talks BPA. Talks about how good this draft is, their scouts aren't sure they've seen better back to back drafts than this year and last year.
New video from the Flames talking about the process behind drafting Gaudreau and Brodie. Interesting little note from Button who mentioned how Feaster insisted on prioritizing skill over size when he took over as GM starting with the 2011 draft.

Every time I hear that I cringe, and think what if they'd taken Kucherov instead of Wotherspoon, and then still had the balls to take Johnny in the 4th round too?
...but I guess I should just be happy that we got Johnny.

Videos on the Flames scouts and their process. Confirms that Fred Parker, Rob Sumner, Todd Button, and Bobby Hagelin (Europe) are our crossover scouts and probably have the biggest inputs when integrating the final list.

I wonder how often Button has these wildcard prospects? Is it every draft? We've heard this story a few times, probably because both players panned out. Are they busts most of the time? Do the Flames miss out on selecting them, so not worth talking about the other instances?
I actually like how he talks to the media and the media spreads his views put because it leaves a certain level of uncertainty for other GMS listening.
Burke said quite bluntly a few weeks ago that a coaching staff isn't needed before the draft because they don't have much of a say anyway, yet Gulutzan came out yesterday and said the opposite, about hoping to land on an assistant coach for the draft.

I might've missed this, but why was Kucherov designated as a wild card like Johnny? What made him a high risk prospect?
