I thought the first episode of Secret Wars was pretty solid. Obviously, a little cliched with the freedom fighters angle. Lol, I did notice how non-sensical and crappy the opening credits were. I skipped through the second half of it, as it really meandered. I was wondering what the bizarre abstract art had to do with the show and why it was going on for so long.

Secret Invasion sounds like it will be a slog. Hoping it surprises me.

Secret Invasion feels like it has the potential to be the Andor of the MCU.

That would be a good thing, for the record.

Well...I am intrigued as to where its going, but that first episode was a bit of a grind at times.

How many episodes is this series?

I thought the opening episode itself was great. Really enjoyed all the acting, the story etc.. pretty excited for this one. Feels nice and different from anything we've had so far. And Emilia Clarke is just so good in her role.

I'm not really sure what the detractors are upset about. As far as spy content goes the pacing was spot on. Opens with an action scene, a slow build up, and a pretty big finale. The show isn't afraid to off major characters. Plus you have SLJ doing his thing.

Based on the first episode just Captain Marvel. The end credits of Spiderman Far from Home kind of ties in but not really important. And I guess at least awareness of the Infinity War snap.

There's also a scene at the end of WandaVision that provides a bit more context, but I think it's mostly to set up The Marvels.

Nothing you need to have seen since Endgame. Do you know who Nick Fury and Maria Hill are? Are you aware that there are Skrulls? If so, you're fine.

I rather enjoyed Secret Invasion. Y'all (*points to the whole internet*) had me expecting garbage.

Looks like Disney's trying to get the whole Stark clan in the MCU.

I thought I read Disney+ was going to begin dropping entire seasons instead of week-to-week releases, so that was a bit of a downer.

I enjoyed the first Secret Invasion. Epic cast and can't go wrong with an espionage and alien invasion story.

Has the same problems of other MCU media in being tied into a bulky universe. Felt like I needed to have watched Captain Marvel right before, the constant references to the avengers etc. is tiring, and I'm over the blip being used as a plot device.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing, it didnt blow any doors off, but for a spy thriller I thought it was pretty good.

WB has found their Superman and Lois Lane for the new Superman reboot. Hopefully they do good, I just have nothing but apathy for WB at this point.

For what little it's worth at this point, I like the casting. Corenswet was decent in Hollywood (a terrible show) and I've only seen Brosnahan in House of Cards as Doug's escort.

I don't know him, but he certainly has the look based on that photo. I think Brosnahan is excellent casting for Lois.
