The company that owns the National Enquirer, a backer of Donald Trump, agreed to pay $150,000 to a former Playboy centerfold model for her story of an affair a decade ago with the Republican presidential nominee, but then didn’t publish it, according to documents reviewed by The Wall Street Journal and people familiar with the matter.
The tabloid-newspaper publisher reached an agreement in early August with Karen McDougal, the 1998 Playmate of the Year. American Media Inc., which owns the Enquirer, hasn’t published anything about what she has told friends was a consensual romantic relationship she had with Mr. Trump in 2006. At the time, Mr. Trump was married to his current wife, Melania.
Quashing stories that way is known in the tabloid world as “catch and kill.”
In a written statement, the company said it wasn’t buying Ms. McDougal’s story for $150,000, but rather two years’ worth of her fitness columns and magazine covers as well as exclusive life rights to any relationship she has had with a then-married man. “AMI has not paid people to kill damaging stories about Mr. Trump,” the statement said.
Hope Hicks, a Trump campaign spokeswoman, said of the agreement with Ms. McDougal: “We have no knowledge of any of this.” She said that Ms. McDougal’s claim of an affair with Mr. Trump was “totally untrue.”

If it's true that the FBI has called in scores of field agents to scour the Wiener files seized I think something big may be going on. could be only Tump supporters drumming things up but it sounds real to me. Could be an interesting weekend.

Or they know they've got nothing but pulling out all the stops and leaking they've pulled out all the stops sounds like there's something.

Probably but how can people think it's a good thing that a campaign is basically saying a law enforcement agency is working for that campaign? That's not a good thing folks and should scare people far more than whatever they think might be in emails.

Or, you could just be another sucker who is buying the negative media about an issue not many people understand. This past month has been brutal for misinformation and disinformation campaigning in the mass media. Worse, the agenda setting by the media has been certain to push the news stories into positions where people assume most relevance, and then have used loaded attributes to establish issue salience in viewer's brains. Not only have people been told what to think about, but how to think about it, and the vast majority of (98%) has been total bull####. The mass media has played viewers, presenting them false and incomplete information, stoking their fears which elevates their awareness of certain cues and making them susceptible to bad information.
Seriously, what could possibly be on Anthony Weiner's computer that could have possibly come from Secretary of State Clinton? If there is anything, it would be a result of Huma Abedin, making her responsible for the handling of the information. How do people not understand this most basic of fact? Simple. The media has been criminal in the covering of this issue and has not properly educated the people on facts which surround the case or the rules on protecting information. They have fed you information to get you emotional rather than information to get you informed. When you are emotional, you are easy to manipulate. You've been manipulated.
Interesting article.

Well, because it is the truth? The vast majority of law enforcement, whether it be local, state or federal, are hardcore Republicans. It is a fact. They are as hardcore as hardcore can be. They are low information voters. They buy into every conspiracy theory you can imagine. They are all hardcore NRA loving gun nuts. There are some moderates, just like in any population, but the vast majority of those who get involved in law enforcement are those type A gun-ho ultra-conservatives who are driven by their emotions and not their cognitive processes.

Law enforcement's biggest problem is they are not reflective of the society they are there to protect and serve. They lean one way and they behave one way, contradictory to the expectations of society itself. They are an attack pitbull when society needs a will trained lab. If there was one component of government that seriously needs to be overhauled it is this part of the executive branch. Law enforcement needs an enema.

Before this election, I thought the fact I couldn't get a date was a bad thing. Now, I feel as though I might be doing the world a service by not producing any more white people.

That's a lot of coverage for something that may or may not be relevant.

When I see that, I think Trump will win. It says people don't care as much about Trump's problems but they care about Hillary's emails.

I think what is weirder about that tweet is a Trumpista trying to pretend a Cubs rally is a Trump rally, when you can see the Sears Tower in the background of the photo.

It's certainly interesting to see these tinfoil hat accusations coming from Clinton supporters: biased media, FBI conspiracy, Russian spy plot...etc. Just goes to show you that there's not much difference between either side.
