I think Ottawa would be a good fit for him.

They didn't gain $4M in cap space, because they immediately spent it on Beauvillier.

I’m assuming he only has a year or two left. If anyone picks him up I would guess he would only go to a contender.

If any contenders think he’d add value on the ice, which he probably does, I’m sure someone would give him a chance. They could probably get him for dirt cheap at this point.

He's obviously going to sign with the team that has the hottest moms.

That would not be allowed.

It was a tongue in cheek response to the suggestion that something the Black Hawks organization (with its tawdry ethical history) would consider to be a material breach of contract might not be considered unethical enough to prevent another team from signing Perry. If Perry has done something that is so bad that it doesn’t even meet the Black Hawks’ standard of conduct to the point that the league released the team from the obligations of his contract, there is no way he should be eligible to play elsewhere. As with the slap on the wrist the organization got for conspiring at the highest levels to cover up sexual abuse, the league is continuing to show its favouritism toward certain franchises.

Everytime I see this thread bumped I think it's the impending news of this guy signing with the Oilers.

He's destined to go there. Remember the Oilers had a deal in 2003 to acquire Perry and a first for Mike Comrie but then pulled out of the deal because they wanted Comrie to also pay them back for his $2.5M bonus?

So, he did something so horrible his contract was terminated, yet, not horrible enough to keep him from signing another. Doesn't make sense.

It was a club decision, not a league one.

Yes, but the NHLPA will appeal it if they feel an appeal is warranted and the termination was without proper cause. See Evander Kane.

Has the NHLPA filed a grievance on behalf of Perry?
