Do we ever have to ask why the NFL does something like this? More game windows = more TV money. I feel like within the next 10 years the only days that won't have NFL football will be Tuesday and Wednesday.

A doubleheader would make sense for that purpose. Staggering an hour on the same family of networks just cannibalizes from each other, and takes away from the event of everyone watching the same game in prime time. It's tough to see the logic here.

But a doubleheader kicks one game out of primetime (and eliminates a plethora of potential teams since it has to be a game in a mountain or pacific time zone), this ensures both games are firmly in primetime. And this way they are running it on two different networks, so two different chances to sell ads, and again most importantly in two primetime windows.

I have to admit the FG block formation with the rusher in motion that the Patriots unearthed was pretty cool. This is going to lead to a lot of copycat stuff and it will be interesting to see how teams adjust or if the rules are tweaked to prevent it. It's kind of shocking that it took so long for someone to come up with this.

I thought that was awesome and I don't doubt it will be copied ASAP. I won't be surprised if the NFL created a rule to get rid of that motion next season though.

The thing is that every special teams coach will now have a play to counter that. Brilliant element of surprise to work that week. But now it will be a game of chicken to see if they rush the guy, and what the other teams cook up to counter this.

They should have saved that play for the a more meaningful game, but I guess the Patriots won't be seeing any playoff action any time soon...

He is easily the best QB in the league and might go down as the best talent ever at the position so easy to see why they waited to top all the other deals.
I did laugh at the comment that he would always be underpaid when averaging 52.6 million over the next 3 years.

Putting together great drives but sputter in the red zone. Hard to score with 0 run game, Kamara and Kendre can't get back soon enough. Jamaal Williams injured tonight too, that was the #4 RB who blew the route on 3rd down.
Get Jimmy Graham out there within the 10

The Bears pending rebuild could go quickly if they do it right. They should have two top 5 picks this year

^^Can you really call it a rebuild if they haven't actually got anything to tear down?
