Payton saying he has to be better but so does Wilson in getting plays in and called and in formation, because they burned too many timeouts and didn't have the right players on the field. He wants Russ to wear a wristband play sheet, something Carroll wanted him to do, but he's resisted.
So sounds like regular stubborn Wilson.
And the time out stuff isn't new. Whether he's overthinking or protesting the play call or just distracted, it happened a lot in Seattle where they had to call a timeout as the clock ticked down, at all points in a game.
Ancient times but I still contend if the Seahawks didn't inexplicably waste a time out on that final drive vs the Pats in the Superbowl (Wilson late getting the players up to the line the play right after the 2 min warning, which was routine) the sequence of events at the end of the game never happens, becuase an extra time out would've had Seattle running while at the 5, not overthinking, worrying about getting stopped and having to hustle to get another play off (though they could've had enough time) and deciding to pass.
Rams waste so much time late they didn't even have 10s left for an onside kick and hail mary with the clock running out on their FG. Worst of all is the Broncos who spent like 6 minutes driving down the field down by 11 only to get a FG with under 2 minutes left. Got lucky with their hail mary but should have had time for a full drive late.

Speaking of the hail mary what were the DB's thinking on that play trying to get the interception when they know they are supposed to be batting the ball down? There's really no excuse for multiple DB's jumping up to intercept the ball there as they just provided the new film example of why you don't do that.

We had a bit of a conversation about it earlier. I don't really see any of the DBs doing that on the replay At 13:40 or so, you can slow it right down.
13 and 22 were both jumping up with the receiver with their arms motioning down, and rebounded off someone's helmet. 31 made a smart play turning around and breaking it up with his hand. That did keep the ball alive, but it was the only option he had to get it out of 82's hands. Then 35 did everything he could to try to knock it down out of Johnson's hands.
Decent Sunday Nighter in the end. Man the Patriots uniforms and field graphics looked slick. 2 games in a row now where it'd be an elite uniform matchup for the Dolphins games - Chargers last week - if they just wore retros (or had an away retro set as well). Still boggles my mind how they took a top 5 uniform and turned it into a bottom tier one.

Going from a good Sunday night game to a Monday Night double header with two awful matchups.
I know they are divisional games, but the teams are not fun or good.
Yeah and why isn't it a doubleheader? Annoying because my best friend is a Steelers fan, we were going to watch both games together back when we saw this on the schedule weeks ago (before we noticed the start times), stupid staggered starts.
And as uninteresting as the matchup is for an impartial fan, as long as its a close game with some good highlights, it'll be fun. Saints and Panthers always play tight games. But I could see both offences struggling against good D's, so it may not be very exciting for the average fan.

Why do they have two MNF games this week and next week?
Is this a test for whats to come?
I know they did it for season openers but I don't recall it like this before.
