Yeah that was the story that played out in the Injustice video game. He goes all wacko after Joker kills Lois and his family. That game actually had a solid story, and made for good reasons for one character to battle himself or herself. It's the only fighting game I can think of that has an engaging storyline anyway.
On a slightly different topic, I hope they incorporate Wonder Woman's invisible plane into this movie somehow lol.
Here's a "Movie" of the whole Injustice game. It's all the cutscenes put together but it plays really well as a movie

Trailer looks amazing. The elephant in the room is Zack Snyder, Mr Trailer himself. Although I liked Man of Steel, I'm still waiting to see the movie that was sold to me in those trailers.
I do think the saving grace is Chris Terrio and Ben Affleck (Shudder). They bring instant story telling and screenplay credibility. I'm sure some will still hate it, but I think this will be a very good movie, at least much better than Man of Steel.
Random musings: Whats up with the Desert Batman and Superman soldiers? Weird. I'm still confused by Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. He looks more like a pre-Joker than a Pre-Luthor.
I do kind of miss the charm of Reeves' Superman, but I don't blame Cavill. I blame the writing. The dude has a constant concerned/sad/pissed off look on his face. I hope we get a taste of the who most people understand him to be. Reeves' was not the original interpretation of Superman. But he is everyone's favorite. One theme of Superman that they really seem to want to hammer home in this one is that he really has no home. The people of earth are scared of him and Batman wants to destroy him. Most people would pack up and leave, but he continues to help people and owns up to his mistakes.
Ben Affleck may just be an awesome Bruce Wayne/Batman.
Good to see Woman Woman is going to get in on the action.
And who the hell cares about DC vs Marvel? I just like movies, more good ones is good for everyone.

Further evidence that people can create a tribe out of anything; be it politics, religion, national identity, or, say, preference of video game console or cell phone manufacturer or fictional comic book universe.

Well how can we NOT expect a Lois and Clark / Henry Cavil Superman crossover now??
Haha so many Lois & Clark references in this thread...apparently I'm the only person who watched Smallville. It was on probably twice as long as the former too. Poor Tom Welling...
That is the trailer they should have released last time and left all the Doomsday stuff out of it. The look on Supes face, queue the Dark Knight speech!

The first 30 seconds of that trailer were pretty awesome. The rest of it is... trailer-ish? Which I guess doesn't give me positive or negative feels? I agree that it's still way better than that previous trailer.
Nice to see more focus on the actual conflict between Batman and Superman. It also appears that Wonder Woman has a bit more involvement in this film rather than just showing up randomly to save the day. We'll see how that plays out.
Early rumblings on the internet podcast community is that surprisingly Eisenberg's Luthor is one of the highlights of the movie and what we've seen in the previews is the persona he keeps for the public to hide his demented mind. He is shadowed only by Afflecks Batman, which I felt would be good. The rest however is a jumbled mess, not surprisingly, Superman once again is just all over the place in consistency. So hard to get that hero right. Anyway, the brass at WB are scrambling and a change in films/directors/producers/scheduling is expected to be announced after B v S including backing a truck full of money up to Afflecks house to do a solo Batman film to re center the DCU around. Poor DC, just can't get a bone.
