Promising Trailer, let's see if the movie holds up. Still not comfortable with Affleck as Batman.
Interested to see how Wonder Woman pans out. And if Aquaman is going to transfer well to the big screen.
Lex Luther seems boring to me, even in that trailer. I do feel like we've all been spoiled to death with Gene Hackmans Lex Luther though. He embodied him perfectly.
That would be my guess as well. With the Superman flashes on the shoulders I would guess there is no way that is present day.
This part gets me excited for the overall universe though.
Spoiler!
Sorry Jason Todd.
Thanks for the freeze frame. I was trying to figure out who's suit that was. I though Aquaman from the shaft/spear thing it's holding. Seeing the R on there is neat. Honestly have zero problem with Robin if they do him right. I wonder if they will end up slipping in Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Nightwing at some point.
Also I hope they eventually get to a Batman Beyond movie. It could be so awesome.
Didn't DC recently do a run of books called Injustice where Superman becomes a global dictator? It was a tie in to the Street Fighter type video game that came out.

Yeah that was the story that played out in the Injustice video game. He goes all wacko after Joker kills Lois and his family. That game actually had a solid story, and made for good reasons for one character to battle himself or herself. It's the only fighting game I can think of that has an engaging storyline anyway.
On a slightly different topic, I hope they incorporate Wonder Woman's invisible plane into this movie somehow lol.

MK 9 (and to a lesser extent MK 10) also have good story lines.
No coincidence that all 3 games are made by the same studio
Personally, I don't think they have it quite right with Cavill and the strange shiny dark-blue suit. It just doesn't feel like Superman. It's just hard to top Chris Reeve.
Despite how cheesily some of the old movies were written, there's no disputing that Reeve was simply iconic in the role and the look was just right. Cavill is a little too short and his face and build doesn't look quite right. In comparison, Cavill looks like super-boy.

I think the biggest issue is charisma. Superman is supposed to be a "boyscout". He's supposed to be friendly with people and generally positive. People, in turn, like him.
Cavill is just too moody. I know they wanted to make a "grittier" film, and I'd agree the 80s Superman cheese just wouldn't do well. That doesn't mean that we need Cavill to scowl constantly. The constant grey/blue tones of the movie just felt off as well. Superman comics are vibrant.
There's actually been a few fan films that show what the Cavill movie look likes without all the grey/blue filters and it's a lot better looking.
