Because he did such great work in Columbus?
I know that Feaster may not have a great record, but I am willing to give him a chance, otherwise, we are looking at yeat another team reboot from the organizational point of view.....

Team is already rebooting so why not get someone now (Jim Nill) instead of waiting.

why? Feaster's track record hasn't been great (dodged a bullet with ROR, Brad Richards, Ryan Smyth). Why not give someone else a chance?

I don't see why we should give him a chance.
A: The Flames aren't a charity
B: There have been some bad moves already, do we need to allow him to have a disastrous move before we go and fire him?

the Preds are very much a build-through-the-draft team, and Fenton runs their draft and player development, so would be very well suited for the Flames rebuild
I'd like any of Nill, Fenton, Hextall or Gilman as the Flames next GM

He's had 2 years already and shown nothing except an exceptional ability to misjudge his team, how long or how badly does he have to screw up before he is out?

And simply have Weisbrod as director of collegiate scouting. The guy is as much to blame for misjudging the team as Feaster.

After allowing Feaster to hire his entire hockey operation staff the past two years, there is no way the owners are going to fire him now, plus i think he deserves some real time on the job.

Hey, hey, hey - we need cap room for the $14-16M going to Weiss and Roy next season... I don't think I am joking...

Yeah, but what about defense? Gonchar and Zidlicky are out there, so we'll need them too.

Uhh yeah. He started with Rick Nash and nothing else(no top end prospects, NHL depth, prospect pool, basically everything) and he left them set up to make numerous playoff runs, and acquire a guy like Gaborik fairly easily.

That's worth a read. I made a lot of assumptions about him, but Mayor Bee(who is CBJ fan, and extremely knowledgeable about the NHL) really opens one's eyes. It's well worth your time.

The Maple Leafs will be contenders within a couple years thanks to Burke. Sounds like the man for the job here.

I think you're forgetting about the 6.5 million we will be paying our new Captain... Mike Riberio.

Feaster took almost 3 years before he realized he misjudged this team. Yes. One benefit of hiring Feaster to replace Darryl was suppose to be that he was already familiar with the organization and the players. He had a chance to evaluate this team from an outsider's point of view, from an AGM point of view, and from a GM point of view. All three positions led him to the conclusion that the team was capable of being contenders.

It took Burke 4+ years to turn around the Leafs, at 2 years he was in the middle of the Kessel debacle. Now he Is lauded around here.
So we are dumping on Jay at 2 years?
Sometimes I think we aren't better than Leaf fans....arg.

Because Brian Burke actually has history of being a good GM. Feaster was an underwear blogger for years, and didn't get a sniff of the NHL after driving the Tampa organization into the toilet... until he came here, and pretty much did the same.

Had Feaster come onboard as GM and told the fans and media on day one
'the team is old slow and overpaid, its time for a rebuild' I would cut him some slack for it taking longer, a GM has less control over the actual process of a rebuild, but Feaster's best hockey call 2 years ago was that the Flames were a playoff contendor, that was a staggeringly inept decision that lost the Flames most of Iginla's worth and possibly a first round pick for Kipper as well.
