Doctors are telling Randy Orton that a return to the ring is a bad idea, but it sounds like he's ignoring that, though he isn't taking bumps yet.

A fun vintage clip from 1980 during Hogan's first run in WWF as a heel managed by Classy Freddy Blassie.

Oh and he's facing a under card jobber named Jim Duggan.

With an appearance from Bob Backlund

Thats a neat show to watch even though I don't watch wrestling anymore its fun to see the stories from when I was a kid/teen watching the WCW crumble after it looked like they would knock the WWF out.

Also do these guys not get paid? Sounds like Bam Bam got money and saved up but I see on Twitter that a 56 year old RVD is back and Sting is a regular wrestler it felt like he was getting too old when he wouldn't jump ship to WWF back in the day now its just embarrassing.

Anyone going to Smackdown next Friday? Just bought tickets! Haven't been to a WWE show in ages, looking forward to it.

I was supposed to go to an AJPW show last week while in Tokyo, but forgot what day it was and we missed the show. $450 (for three tickets) down the drain, haha.

Yes I bought tickets on presale, and taking my son to his first ever live wrestling event (he’s 10). I thought about going to AEW with him but ultimately decided that his first event should be WWE given that’s all he watches. He’s super excited and being the first smackdown after summerslam there should hopefully be some really interesting storyline wrap ups and/or new fueds. Fingers crossed that there’s some big returns at summerslam and maybe just maybe one of them appears in Calgary for the first smackdown after.

I got an email this morning from Shaw telling me that I can order WrestleMania this weekend. It showed Reigns and Rhodes as though it was the big event.... A few hours later I received a correction email that it's actually SummerSlamn this weekend and the poster actually shows Reigns and Uso as the main event.... Did WWE screw up and send out promos for their future plans?

Wrote a whole thing up on SummerSlam so far and then thanks to beer hit the wrong button and lost it all.

The Gunther/Drew match and Rollins/Prince match were both 5 star matches to me.

Brock put over Cody to make him look even stronger is a solid match

Rhonda finishes her WWE run by losing to the under rated Shayna in a MMA match that was surprisingly ok.

Logan Paul continues to show that he's a natural and he and Richochet tore down the curtains tonight. but the ending of the match with Paul using brass knucks was dumb.

The woman's title match was ok, but Charlotte has been off of her game for a while and at times looks really slow and clumsy, and disinterested. Belair and Asuka carried the mail. But the best part was Iyo Sky cashing in and the look of pure joy on her, Bayley's and Dakota's (who's been gone for a long time with a bad knee injury) was awesome and I've been calling for Sky to get a run with the title for a while.

Over all WWE's ppv quality has been really good for a while.

Wasted Zayn and Jey being over with the crowd to feed Roman to Cody at WM40.

And that ending was brutal. Making Jimmy turn on Jey makes no sense overall.

But I guess they could build to a match between the three brothers at WM, which I think they have said is a dream.

Austin Theory vs Santos Escobar for the US title and AJ Styles vs Karrion Kross have been announced for the Calgary Smackdown so far. Really hoping we get Roman Reigns but not getting my hopes up. Pumped to see LA Knight!!

Yep, stoked to see LA Knight the most haha - I hope they give him a decent chunk of TV time, looks like the mega push for the Megastar has started

I’ve also seen ads on Facebook produced by WWE showing rhea Ripley vs Natalya for the women’s title in Calgary as well. Likely will he a dark match not to air on smackdown but should be fun to see Ripley I’d that’s the case

We went over this with Zayn and we are going to go over it with Jey. Cody has gotten a white meat baby face act over in 2023. We have not seen this in a very long time. Every other time we've seen something like this attempted, it's failed spectacularly and been rejected by the fans.

This is a story about Cody's rise and Roman's fall. Roman's fall is going to be those close to him turning on him leaving him alone when he faces Cody next. Cody's story is going to be fighting his way through some of the WWEs biggest names to get back to the point where he can challenge Roman again. Yes, Sami and Jey were over, but their stories have other places to go. Sami with Kevin and Jey and the turmoil with his brothers. In the end it will all likely come back around and be a part of Roman finally losing. But it will be losing to Cody.

WWE often gets flak for no long term booking and never having a story that has deep roots and many branches. We have this here. People advocating for Sami and Jey are advocating for something they normally abhor from WWE. You put the belt on them and you no longer have a meaningful finish to the Rhodes story of conquering the villain and completing his family's destiny. And this isn't comparable to forcing Reigns down our throat while Bryan Danielson is red hot. Cody is over too. Cody is getting massive positive reactions too. I think we need to let this play out and not react every time WWE doesn't pull 'chute early.

Saw highlights on Twitter of Logan Paul guys a loser but he's actually pretty good and athletic how long has been wrestling? A guy like that would have veen great during the attitude era.

Logan Paul has no business being as good as he is in the ring. He's an insufferable prick of a person but... ####, he can go.

Just for fun, I thought that I would start throwing some vintage matches up in this thread.

Here's a really early match from 1991 with Jericho and Storm as Sudden Impact taking on Lenny St Claire and Bret Como. This was really early in Jericho and Storms career and might have been part of their first tour together.

You can still see that Lance and Jericho are pretty green, and I think they murdered St Claire with their finishing move, and then Jericho got hurt on a botch from the top rope.
